"Of course, I had mold. I was surprised at how quickly they recommended Biocide to eliminate my mold problem. I feel like they may be together in the mold removal industry. Having done my research, you are not supposed to have a mold test company and also be a mold removal company, and yet this company seemed to skirt that but not having them be officially affiliated with Mold Test Company."

"They came quickly and took samples to test crawl space for asbestos. Results were back ASAP. Pricing was a bit expensive for what was only a few minutes in home."

"Thoroughly professional. Only did the work that was necessary. Did the work within the budget initially quoted and on time. The thing that I really found helpful was that they did all the work necessary to remediate the mold, repair the leak and return the house to an its original state (dry wall, Painting, ETC.)"

"They had to come out twice to do cleaning as after the first attempt there were still many stains on furniture. There were still stains after second cleaning so maybe they were permanent. In the future, communicating that residual stains are probably permanent would change our perspective from the service being deficient to the stains being indelible."

"I spoke with Jack Geller multiple times through two home contracts that had environmental issues including asbestos and lead. Jack was so kind and advised me on what to do without even being hired to do the job. He always answered the phone, even offered for me to email him photos, and provided a referral for MD lead paint testing since his company doesn't do lead paint testing in MD. The lead paint testing referral was excellent, and I felt like I was in very good hands due to the referral. I spend countless phone calls with Jack regarding what to do and how to proceed with the asbestos problems. Jack provided a variety of suggested solutions, connected me with a remediation company, and was truly wonderful. I cannot believe how helpful he was considering I hadn't even hired the company/paid them anything. I truly trust him, he is a step above any other company that handles this (and I made many, many phone calls). I highly recommend this company and wouldn't trust another one to do environmental testing and guidance."

"Inspector was very professional and personable, and performed a very thorough inspection. He provided a detailed report (except for the radon test which requires more time) on the same day."

FAQs for mold & toxic material test projects in Culpeper, VA

Some companies offer a no‑cost phone or video consultation that screens for red flags. If the discussion points to a real issue, the pro will recommend a paid on‑site inspection. The complimentary call clarifies whether you need full testing, but it isn’t a substitute for samples, lab work, or a written report. Always confirm what the free service covers before you schedule.

A standard inspection, which includes basic air and surface samples, takes an average of two hours. If the pro needs to probe hidden spaces, such as wall cavities or ductwork, plan on up to six hours. Extra time allows the inspector to reach tight areas, collect additional samples, and document findings. Lab analysis is a separate process and often adds several business days to the overall timeframe before you receive the full report.

Mold thrives where moisture lingers and air flow is poor. Common hotspots include bathroom walls, kitchen backsplashes, window sills, HVAC vents, fireplaces, crawl spaces, and enclosed attics. Check these areas regularly—especially after leaks or high‑humidity weather—to catch growth early and avoid costly repairs.

Unchecked mold can knock 20% to 37% off a home’s market value because buyers worry about hidden damage and health risks. Even after remediation, visible staining or a history of major moisture issues can still lower offers and prolong the time on the market. Addressing mold quickly protects both your property’s structural integrity and its resale appeal.
