"Lidio and his coworker were both amazing. They took their time to make sure the job was done correctly and everything worked accordingly. Lidio did an excellent job explaining how the equipment works and also cleaned up afterwards. I will highly recommend then and I will definitely hire then again."

"We recently hired Sosso Remodeling to renovate our condo in North Palm Beach, FL, while we were still residing in New Jersey, and the experience exceeded all expectations! From start to finish, Octavian was absolutely incredible—his communication, craftsmanship, and attention to detail made this long-distance renovation completely stress-free. Despite the distance, Octavian kept us updated every step of the way with regular photos, videos, and clear explanations of the progress. He was always responsive, addressing any questions or concerns promptly, which gave us total peace of mind. His dedication to quality is evident in every detail of the renovation—the workmanship is top-notch, and our home looks absolutely stunning! "Little did we realize when we purchased our home that the shower in the master bath had been improperly constructed, creating moisture-rot and degradation to structural a support joist under our house. Fortunately, we discovered the problem before any permanent damage had occurred, but finding the right contractor for such an important job wasn't all that simple. Our one trusted contractor had moved, and therfore was unavailable. Calling Arthur Forrest with Faith Construction was, to me, a bit of a risk, as his company had less than a half-dozen reviews on Angie's List--although they were all A-ratings. But I was searching for a list of qualifications--the perfect combination of knowledge and skill, communication and customer service skills. And I hoped to find someone who actually cared about his work and reputation. I believe I found all I was looking for when I met Arthur Forrest. He returned my call right away. Check. Rather than delaying his estimate, he worked us into his schedule to come take a look at the problem, and was able to give us his professional opinion within 24 hours. Check. His price was quite fair. Check. Everything he presented to me seemed to line up with the positive reviews I had read about him, as he seemed to care about the work, and put in the time to assessing the problem and getting the proposed solution right. Check. The work was done under my husband's scrutiny, who is not always easy for contractors to please. But by the end of the job, which was done on time and on budget, my husband had nothing but wonderful things to say about the quality of the job. Faith Construction had gone above and beyond to ensure that their work was done to his satisfaction, and done right, without cutting any corners. Mr. Forrest has left me with the string impression that he is an ethical man with a deep concern for his customers' satisafaction, and his company's reputation. After seeing what he is capable of accomplishing, and having experienced how this company conducts business, I have no reservations in recommending Faith Construction to anyone who wants a job done right. I am very pleased."

FAQs for basement remodeling projects in Cutler Bay, FL

Finishing a basement turns unused square footage into livable space and returns up to 70% of what you spend when you sell your home. Beyond that resale boost, you gain a playroom, home office, or guest suite you can start enjoying right away. That mix of daily comfort and solid return on investment (ROI) makes basement finishing one of the smartest upgrades you can tackle.

In some parts of the country—especially lots on swamps, high water tables, or other wetlands—local codes prohibit basements. Saturated soil puts constant pressure on foundation walls and lets water seep in faster than any sump pump can handle.

If your property sits on waterlogged ground, building on a slab or crawl space is often safer, more affordable, and code-compliant.

Most basements wrap up in four to eight weeks. Framing takes three to five days, with electrical and plumbing rough-ins following over the next week. Add five days for drywall, two to three for flooring, and another week for paint, trim, and punch-list items.

Delays can happen if materials run late or your contractor’s calendar is packed, so build in a little cushion when you plan.

Whether a finished basement counts toward your home’s official square footage depends on local rules. Many areas only include below-grade space if it has code-approved egress, fully finished walls, ceilings, and floors, plus consistent heating.

Check with your local assessor or building department before you start; meeting those standards can affect taxes, appraisals, and resale value.

Building codes require a checklist: dedicated heat and electrical service, a code-approved stairway, and at least one egress window or exterior door. Walls, ceilings, and floors must be fully finished and meet insulation, ventilation, and fire-separation standards. If you add a bedroom, you’ll also need a closet, proper clearances, and safe exits. If you change the layout later, be ready to update the space so every new room still meets today’s code.
