"

Marvin is very conscientious business man. He showed up when he said he would, worked under some of the hottest conditions imaginable to complete the work as scheduled. When a couple of issues arose he returned and redid things until I was 100% satisfied.

One of my neighbors saw his work and contracted him for concrete work at his house. He ensures customer is completely satisfied and is a man who keeps his word. I would definitely hire him again

"The work was performed as discussed, professionally and on time. Dealing with Gross Concrete was easy and pleasant. I'll continue to deal with them for future concrete needs. They weren't the cheapest estimate but I had more confidence in them, and I think I got the best price/performance. It wasn't a big job bit it was important to me."

"My property manager called him. He gave an estimate that was fair since we had already talked to another person abot the job. He was patient even though we didn't get back to him for 1 week. He did the job as soon as we called him (after getting a deposit) and sent pictures via picture text of the completed job. I have a 1 hour drive so that was very helpful in saving me time and gas."

"I inquired online regarding the services that we needed. With in a few hours the owner, Shawn Mitchell, contacted us and was able to come out and give us a estimate. When my husband mentioned that we were interested in a concrete pad next to our sunroom, Shawn explained to my husband that it probably would not be in our best interest due to the drain pipes that would need to be covered as well as the way the water would sit in the corners. So we opted to just have the original driveway resealed as well as add an addition lane next to the current driveway. Original driveway is about 10' x 50'. Shawn came out on a Tuesday for the estimate. We explained that we would like to get this done ASAP but that my husband would be leaving to go out of town on Thursday evening. Shawn was able to fit us in the next day. His services were great, the product was great, the communication was great, the price was great!"

"Our Sewer line was backing up and when I snaked it, the line came back with a clump of clay dirt. Later we found out that the cast iron piping under our basement slab had failed at some point and the water from it made a huge cavity around a footer that had we not tended to it would have collapsed our entire house in. We ran through a gambit of contractors and Mcfee was the only one able to grasp the gravity of the situation and had the capability and expertise to handle it quickly and properly (as well as without making me jump through hoops). BGE Home said they could only work on the sewer line but I had to find someone to expose it. They wouldnt cover it under the plumbing nor sewer line plans we had (initially denied, then said they would but the plan would only send out 1 plumber and a second plumber would cost double). Another contractor said they would poke a hole in our concrete slab and patch the pipe in a 3'x3' square without scoping the pipe with a camera nor determine where to put the 3'x3' hole for $7k. Mcfee had Greer Plumbing (Matt and team) come out and camera snake the line and mark the entirely of the pipe with a locator to accurately come up with a solution. Greer was great. We executed on the contract and these guys NO JOKE diagnosed, trenched the entire basement, replaced all cast iron piping and refinished the entire basement all within 28 days -11/15/19 and 12/12/19. In comparision, It took AES near 4 months to redo a small bathroom for us. To top it off, Bill hand held us through the home owners insurance paperwork. Jack and team were wonderful to interact with and honestly feel like family that I want to invite back during the holidays. Their masonry experience especially came in handy when we found a big crack in the foundation and when we discovered that part of the pipe ran under a fireplace (repaired both along the way without skipping a beat). Bill even has been following up so far in 2020 to make sure everything is settling in fine and to schedule a time to patch up the small incidentals. All in all a 10/10 experience and would full-heartedly recommend them to anyone who runs into similar challenging problems. TLDR - McFee is the one stop shop that has the capability and resources to solution any sized residential job from soup to nuts."

FAQs for concrete delivery projects in Darlington, MD

The amount of concrete you need varies by project. One 80lb bag covers an area of about 2 square feet, for a slab 4 inches thick. Two 60lb bags of concrete cover an area of about 2 square feet for a slab that is 6 inches thick.

A truckload of concrete can usually hold a maximum of 10 cubic yards.

The cost of concrete per cubic yard depends on which brand you purchase, but usually costs about $110 for bags.

It takes about 41 bags of concrete to fill a cubic yard. Always plan to buy a few bags more than the exact required amount in case of mistakes.

To calculate the amount of concrete you need for a slab, you should find the cubic yardage of the area you will be filling. Just follow these steps:

  1. Measure the area in feet.

  2. Multiply length by width, and then by thickness.

  3. Divide the resulting number by 27 to find cubic yards.
