"The 2025 Indiana/Ohio River flood placed my furnace and heat pump 70” under water; it had to be replaced. I called Jeff of Pike Mechanical after the water receded and asked him for a service call. During the service call, we concluded the entire HVAC system had to be replaced. Subsequently, Jeff had to correspond and coordinate with FEMA at least four maybe five different times to satisfy FEMA requirements. This took a tremendous amount of effort from Jeff who had to submit detailed pricing for every process of the job. After multiple efforts, Jeff was successful in dealing with FEMA and was able to install a state of the art HVAC system at no cost to me and completed the entire project in one day. Unbelievable! He never stopped working when he arrived and was very methodical in his efforts. I highly recommend Jeff and his company."

"Jim is local.  It went great. Jim Ferrell is a professional of the highest caliber. Responded quickly, took care of my problems, and advised me as to better means of protection than I had. He came back a second time to uninstall software that I purchased that did not provide adequate protections and installed free software that would do the job.  He did the work through remote connection, but is available on site if necessary.
For those people needing help on getting red of malware, viruses , etc. on your computer,  Jim is local, better than all thse remote out of state location providers, is a mature, highly trained professional in this area.
If you go to local computer stores you get very young people that can do a basic job, but are no where near the professional level of Jim.

The technicians were very friendly and showed us the condition of our chimney with a video of the interior.  Inspection of the exterior chimney showed wear and tear problems with the exterior brick, crown, and flashing.  No flue cap was in place, allowing birds to enter the chimney flues.  All recommended repairs were thoroughly explained.  Work was delayed by weather and inexperience of one technician sent to the job (our roof is very steep).  We appreciated that the company sent a more experienced technician then for safety's sake.

The initial inspection was performed by a experienced chimney repair technician and a trainer.  Both were personable, professional, and customer oriented.

We are satisfied with all work, and clean up by the crew, as well as paperwork was efficient.  Would use the company again.

An update:  A storm blew the protective cage off the chimney top.  The company would not stand behind their work, saying the damage was an act of God.  They charged us for two new protective cages and installation.  Because of this, we have decided not to use the company again.

"CHW was very responsive to our urgent need! We filed a claim the evening prior when we notices our A/C was blowing warm air into the rooms. Then by 8AM the next day, we had a call from the service technician saying he was on his way to address the issue! CHW worked with the technician to find out the compressor was the culprit and approved it's repair! Great customer service for a family in need during the hot south central Texas summer!"

"I had the chimney cleaning and inspection performed in April on the $78 special, and asked for an estimate to repair some damage and install a chimney cap. I had damage from racoons that ripped up the screen covering the chimney, loosened some bricks and had built a nest inside the chimney on a ledge just above the fireplace damper. The worker who did the cleaning was on time for the appointment, was efficient, thorough, and careful to keep all dust and debris from entering my home through the fireplace while he was vacuuming. He inspected the chimney from inside the fireplace and from outside for damage and signs of water leakage, carefully explained the options for a repair and installation of a new cover and gave me an estimate based on my selection. Fireplace Doctor called the next day and set up another appointment, about 2 weeks later, for the repair work.
Two workers came to do the repair work and installation of a lock-top damper (one that could be completely closed from inside the fireplace when not in use). Brickwork and mortar repair was done, installation of the damper completed and a total (3 coat) waterproofing of the mortar cap and brickwork was done in a couple of hours. I climbed up on the roof to inspect the work and one of the men showed and explained the work done and then came into the house and showed me how to use the open/close mechanism for the lock-top damper. The total with the Angies list discount was $1148.
