"After the testing, I was called and my test report sent to me. The test expert on the phone went over the results with me. He told me what the numbers meant and then explained that I had 3 of the most toxic molds growing in my house. He said that the results were so concerning, he then immediately connected be to Biocide Labs to have them tell me what to do to rid the toxic mold from my house."

"They were very professional and honest. They did a follow up while we were waiting to get the results of the mold testing. I would highly recommend this company. I wish I could give them more stars."

"Company did a great job and cleaned up everything. Very neat and fast. There was one area that was hidden to the workers so they missed it the first time. However they were HAPPY to come back to fix the issue. This is a GREAT COMPANY that cares about the service they provide. I would highly recommend. <br>"

"Highly Professional. I had multiple quotes for the work. This quote was in the middle. It was readily apparent from the details of the quote however, that this organization knew exactly what needed to be done. They outlined in complete detail how they would approach the remediation and the steps that they would take to protect the rest of the home. For instance the work was done under negative pressure and they employed extensive poly film barriers. They treated the area 3 times (included in quote) and thoroughly explained their approach to repairing the ventilation in the attic space. In an era when so many do the minimum, it was thoroughly refreshing to be working with a team that bent over backwards to do it right and to ensure customer satisfaction. These folks were great!"

"I cannot say enough about Paul and his work. I was beyond impressed. He showed up early to the house, fully explained everything, and was very prompt with his report. My father came with me to the inspection as it was my first home purchase. Paul encouraged both of us to ask questions and assured us that we were never getting in his way. He made it clear multiple times that he was there for us to make sure we understood every aspect of the house I might be purchasing. He was very thorough and was not rushing to get done. I had him perform a separate mold test as the basement had flooded in the past. When I received the mold results he called me personally to go over them with me. I definitely recommend him and will be using him for all of my future inspection needs. "

"They were so good. I had been getting a hard sell from another company and didn't feel comfortable with their answers. I went to the Protech Environmental Services  website and they were so informative, even providing national geologic surveys in the area explaining about why certain areas have radon and why. Any company that interested in just providing this info for free on their website deserved my call. When I called i spoke to David. He was so patient answering all my questions. I asked a lot of questions. He was so forthright and knowledgable, just sharing and answering. This is the kind of company I want to do business with, one who is interested in helping me and my home. I was surprised how soon they were able to come in for the appointment. I had 3 men here and they were very respectful of my property. Explaining everything they were going to do as well as asking me where exactly I wanted the vent to go (it was in a corner so i could go out either of 2 walls) They even helped with that decision and showed me on the outside as well as a nearby room where the vent tube would be and made sure we wouldn't see it from any interior window (just really thoughtful). THere was very little mess and they explained everything thoroughly to me when I asked. Once finished they explained what they did and what I could expect. they also provided me with a third party radon test (so it's impartial). They left no mess. did their job. THe clear sump pump cover is brilliant because I can see down and be aware incase the pump or water level has issues. Very Very pleased with everything. Good company , good people.  <br />"

FAQs for mold & toxic material test projects in Detroit, MI

Some companies offer a no‑cost phone or video consultation that screens for red flags. If the discussion points to a real issue, the pro will recommend a paid on‑site inspection. The complimentary call clarifies whether you need full testing, but it isn’t a substitute for samples, lab work, or a written report. Always confirm what the free service covers before you schedule.

A standard inspection, which includes basic air and surface samples, takes an average of two hours. If the pro needs to probe hidden spaces, such as wall cavities or ductwork, plan on up to six hours. Extra time allows the inspector to reach tight areas, collect additional samples, and document findings. Lab analysis is a separate process and often adds several business days to the overall timeframe before you receive the full report.

Mold thrives where moisture lingers and air flow is poor. Common hotspots include bathroom walls, kitchen backsplashes, window sills, HVAC vents, fireplaces, crawl spaces, and enclosed attics. Check these areas regularly—especially after leaks or high‑humidity weather—to catch growth early and avoid costly repairs.

Unchecked mold can knock 20% to 37% off a home’s market value because buyers worry about hidden damage and health risks. Even after remediation, visible staining or a history of major moisture issues can still lower offers and prolong the time on the market. Addressing mold quickly protects both your property’s structural integrity and its resale appeal.
