"G.L. Hunt was very professional, educational, and compassionate. They provided us with 3 different estimates depending if we wanted all concrete or concrete and steal or all steel (good, better and best). They explained everything to us where we could understand. They answered all of our questions and concerns. They did initial measurements for free and did measurements before lifting the house and after. I asked G.L Hunt to redo all measurements after they raised the house so I could see the differences myself, G.L. Hunt Foundation went on and above what we expected. They ensured us everything was okay. G.L. Hunt walked though every area in my home and outside with my husband. They informed us, they will provide us with free soil just in case we get sink holes from where they where digging and refills the holes they dug up. The areas we thought needed to be redone i.e. mortar and chalking touch ups G.L. Hunt came out the net day and redid everything we asked them to redo. The also informed us to call them after 90 days and they will redo measurements again to ensure everything was okay. They advised us to put up glitters around the house and they did checked our plumbing under the house within 30 days to ensure our plumbing was okay after lifting the house. We got 4 estimate and we are very happy we selected G.L. Hunt to Do our foundation work. GL Hunt did an excellent job."

"Came out on time for estimate and work. Costs were upfront, accurate, and no surprises. Very flexible when I wanted to make last minute adjustments. Answered all my questions and even gave me a little education (asked for and welcomed) on the process. Final product came out perfect. I will hire again."

"The team was flexible with scheduling as I travel a lot for work.  As you can imagine, given the scope of work involved, I wanted to be present as much as possible.  They accomodated as well as they could and had crews working on days that normally didn't, which I certainly appreciated. <br /> The process of watching your house be lifted is nerve racking and very neat all at the same time.  They jack up the house using hydraulic jacks simultaneously, you can literally feel the house moving.  Aside from the roller coaster ride, the team was professional and knew what they were doing.  It is extremely dirty, hard work and these guys earn it.  My house was a disaster zone for a week, but it had to be done. <br /> Now for the not so good:  Once they completed the lift, they leave a couple of the holes exposed around the foundation until the plumber can do the hydrostatic test (to make sure there weren't any pipes broken with the house moving up and down).  They do this to mitigate some of the expense should there be a leak.  Caught a break, no leaks, good news.  Only downside was that no one came back out to fill the left over holes, was actually forgotten about (keep in mind, they have a lot of projects going on so not a huge deal, holes were covered up with plywood).  They immediately sent a crew to patch the remaining holes, which was great.  The downside, I was not there to oversee this portion of the work.  Needless to say, they filled some of the holes with the concrete that was busted up from the backporch/inside foundation.  Thus, there are rocks and big chunks of concrete thrown into holes that were previously filled with only dirt.  Compared to the rest of the work they did, this was really sloppy and almost an afterthought (rush and get it done so they could put their folks back on other jobs). <br /> Overall, I am pleased with the work they did, their guys were professional and busted their butts, only thing is the final patching that disappointed.  I'm not sure how this would compare to other companies, but just make sure you are there to oversee the final steps. <br />"

"We had a rather extensive cavity develop under pea gravel patio due to erosion and animal activity. The Baird rep was very professional and quoted the job and work was completed on time and on budget. Mario and Gabe did an outstanding professional job with 100% cleanup. Great company to do business with."

"The A-1 representatives that I dealt with were very courteous and professional.   It was easy to schedule an appointment and when the appointment date arrived, the A-1 engineer arrived right on time.   He carefully  performed a very thorough assessment of my foundation. <br /> At the end of his review, he provided us with a verbal report on our propertie's condition along with recommendations.  He said they would provide us with a written report in 10-15 days which they did indeed provide. <br /> The services of A-1 saved us thousands of dollars on unneeded foundation repairs.   Furthermore, they provided us with good recommendations to avoid future foundation issues.   We were very impressed with everyone at A-1 and we have followed up on all of their recommendations.  <br /> I would strongly recommend anyone that is considering foundation work to first have A-1 come out and take a look.  The foundation repair companies will always tell you that you need expensive work to be done.  A-1 engineering will provide a much better and professional assessment of your structure(s) and it will be money well spent. <br />"

FAQs for concrete injection leveling mudjacking projects in Devine, TX

Mudjacking and foam jacking differ significantly in both materials and methods. Mudjacking uses a cement-based slurry to fill voids beneath a slab, while foam jacking uses expanding polyurethane foam delivered under high pressure to achieve superior structural support. This material distinction enhances load-bearing strength and overall stability in your repair.

Mudjacking takes between one and three days to dry completely. During this time, it's important to avoid putting weight on the slab until it's fully cured. The drying time depends on the project size and environmental conditions. In contrast, polyurethane foam used in foam jacking can cure in as little as one hour.

No, mudjacking is not a permanent fix for sinking concrete. While it effectively lifts the slab and can last five to 10 years, it doesn't address underlying soil issues that may cause future sinking. For a more permanent solution, you might consider foam jacking or complete slab replacement, which can address deeper structural problems.
