"I worked with Junior and Sharon to design the plan and pick out materials. The design was a bit unconventional and required moving walls, piping and rerouting plumbing and electrical to keep a tub and add a double vanity. Junior and Sharon were professional, responsive and very enjoyable to work with. Their connections with tile, paint and supplies made selecting the products easy and fun, as well. They have a great eye for detail and design! Junior had stated it would take 6 to 8 weeks to complete my project. As most projects have issues that come up, I anticipated it would take longer. I was more than pleasantly surprised when the job completed in just 5 weeks, including a week "off" due to my vacation and waiting on a backorder. Junior's estimation was right on the money! Finishing the job earlier than expected is amazing. Once the project began, Jason, the general contractor, gave daily updates by phone in the evening and came to the job nearly every day to handle the project. Jason is professional, prompt in responding and easy to work with. On site, Henry, the crew leader, was also very professional, pleasant to work with and very responsive to the needs of his workers, the project and my requests. The entire crew was just as professional and pleasant to work with. Each day, they came promptly, set up, polite to each other, my family and home, worked efficiently and professionally, then cleaned up each evening before leaving. The entire staff of VKB Kitchen and Bath were amazing to work with. But even more to the point, their workmanship was top notch. Every detail was taken care of from paint matching, molding work, drywall and finish work, material setting, care of materials and the finished project turned out better than I had expected. I've worked with many contractors over the years. I recommend few to others and do not write reviews for most. That is not the case with VKB Kitchen and Bath. "-Excellent pricing -Great communication -Extremely talented contractors We contacted Home Breakthrough for a complete, down to the studs, remodel of our master bathroom. We couldn't possibly be happier with the work that they did, and their pricing was significantly better than the other quotes we received. Planning Phase: Within a day of contacting the company, Francisco came to our house to give us a quote. A day or two after that, once we elected to go with Home Breakthrough, he drew up the contract and set a date for us to pick out tile. Throughout the planning phase, Francisco and his coordinator Honika, were with us every step of the way. What was particularly helpful was that when we would pick a fixture that may not work for the space (our master bathroom is tiny), he would recognize it as an issue ahead of time, saving us time and money. He was also very keen on laying out different options for us in an effort to keep costs down. Construction: The team the company sent to do the work (Ismael and Ricardo) were amazing. Not only were they incredibly talented contractors, they were very respectful of our home. They cleaned up at the end of every day and were very cautious not to damage any walls or flooring during construction. Most importantly, they did BEAUTIFUL work. We have an old house, so there were numerous issues they had to work through, such as uneven floors, uneven walls, and shoddy plumbing and electrical. They were able to solve all these issues without problem, and the end result was absolutely stunning. Ismael and Francisco were really good about showing us exactly what was wrong, why it was a problem, and explaining how they would fix it. I'm no contractor, but I have done a good deal of framing, plumbing, electrical, etc in the past (most of my friends are in the trades). I can guarantee you that if this company tells you something is an issue that needs to be addressed, they are not trying to up-sell you. They know what they are talking about and they are really good about finding solutions to problems in the most cost effective way to you. You will not find a more honest company than Home Breakthrough. Once all the issues were solved, construction of our new bathroom went very quickly. We went with an ornate herringbone pattern for the tiles on one of the walls in our shower, which Ismael installed perfectly, despite needing to custom cut the majority of the tiles for that wall. The speed with which they finished up the project is a testament to the diligent prep work Ismael and Ricardo did ahead of time. They didn't even need to shim the cabinets or vanity! Even in new constructions you usually need to shim, but the walls and floor they installed were perfectly level and plumb. Final Thoughts: If you are looking to do a remodel, this is the company you want. The entire team was a pleasure to work with, we saved several thousand dollars going with them over another company, and our finished bathroom is literally perfect."

"Devin Nasvaderani (Marel Homes) is, without a doubt, the best contractor with whom I have ever worked. He came into a job that had been royally screwed up by a prior contractor (see review of Stevenson & Sons). He thoroughly inspected the property, prepared a detailed bid, gave us advice on the most important items and delivered a bid that could work with our budget and the existing lender requirements. His entire crew were professional and consciencious. Devin delivered on time, on budget with high quality work. He kept us informed throughout the process. The portico he built is frequently the subject of compliments by our neighbors (and people just driving by). We will use Devin to continue improving our home. "My "no" on hire again should really be a "maybe." Finished project looks nice. Mike is responsive and honest. It's clear that he takes pride in the finished work. I would consider him for a handyman project, but not a significant job. I thought I was paying (what felt to me like a retail price) for a project managed by a general contractor with the work done by subs -- carpenter, painter, tile worker, plumber. But Mike staffed it like a handyman project. In that respect, I don't feel that I got the best value for the money. We had some communication issues. I'm not a contractor and didn't understand/anticipate things that Mike had in mind. That issue might have been mitigated by the use of a designer. I didn't click with the cabinet vendor. Mike should have known that the cabinet order was not finalized or placed. We had a delay of a couple weeks because of that. Then, we had another delay of a couple weeks because the sink arrived damaged. I'm thinking that Mike should have unpacked the sink when it arrived, so he could have ordered its replacement - thus avoiding that delay? The tile came out uneven in a couple places and had to be redone. It still isn't perfect, but the imperfections aren't noticeable. Use of a tile contractor might have avoided this? The drain venting for the toilet remains a perplexing issue, and perhaps use of a plumber would have avoided this? Not sure. Mike assures me they didn't touch the drain vents. As it is, a toilet flush causes the sink drain to gurgle unless water has just been run in the sink. Mike is still trying to resolve this. Delays on the project understandably created conflict in the household. Some stress is to be expected in a construction zone located inside an occupied dwelling -- but I love construction and my husband is generally easy going. Nonetheless, in this case, my husband and I came into unnecessary conflict because of the glitches noted above."
