"Scope of project: 1) reset/regrade pavers stones in front walkway and back patio area that were displaced by new driveway and trenches, 2) install drain in low spot connecting to an existing drain, 3) demo a platform of pavers next to the garage to make even with the rest of the patio. I chose him over other bids because he seemed very knowledgeable, easy to communicate with, and well versed in the scope of my project. His estimate also seemed like a fair fee. "We had to tear down our old, rotten deck and build a new one with a couple improvements. We had a clear idea of what we wanted to do, but there were some challenges. We wanted a pergola to cover part of the deck, but the clearance from the roof was going to make it tough. We also wanted to replace a window with a slider door and on our old, 1905 house, we expected some trouble there. Robert was excellent to work with. He took the time to go through our plan and came up with great solutions to maximize the height of the pergola and offered suggestions to make the whole construction better than we had imagined it.
