"This company advertises free estimates, but as soon as they come out, it?s 179. I paid too much for a radon fan so that I wouldn?t eat the 179 fee per visit. I asked the office what was covered for free per the website, and this was the response: ?To clarify, while we do offer free estimates, the $179.00 service fee was disclosed during our initial phone conversation. You had the option to decline the service at that time if you did not agree to the charge. Additionally, had our technician identified any further issues with your system during the visit, a free estimate for that specific repair work would have been provided then.? I must have misunderstood during the original call, but beware that free isn?t free. Also, the tech called at 915, told me he would arrive between 1015 and 1030 and got there around 1115, outside of my 9-11 service window."

"When I called the mold company for my lab results. They gave me a person named Ricardo Echeverria, Senior Mold Analyst to call for the results. He verbally told me that the cause was something like a remodel, construction going on. There was a red flag for a VOC called Methylene Chloride--Banned outdated paint. I sent Ricardo and email asking if I can have a report of what he said in writing. I only received a contaminants list. I said, I am not a scientist and do not understand the lab results.I never received a response back from him. I called Jeremiah Bancroft a few times and asked for a written explanation of the causes. He could not supply me with a written explanation because it was a legal issue. I asked for his help. I need your help. Jeremiah said, go to your primary care for a doctors note. That was the last time I spoke to him on September 19, 2024"

"We had water in our crawlspace after heavy rain. We hired Adam Basement to remedy the problem after consulting with three companies. We hired Adam Basement because of their excellent reputation in our neighborhood and because Bob of Adam Basement is a superb communicator, who explained the problem and proposed solution to us in a logical and easy-to-understand manner. Adam Basement installed a pressure relief sub-floor drainage system with a drainpipe and two sump pumps. They treated the crawlspace for mold and mildew and wrapped the floor and walls with a vapor barrier. Adam Basement’s technicians were hard-working, technically proficient, and professional, and their office staff were responsive and helpful. We’ve had the system for six months and are very pleased. The crawlspace has remained bone dry after heavy rain, and it looks and smells great. Adam Basement stands behind its work, as it provides a 10-year sump pump warranty and a lifetime, transferable waterproofing system warranty. We wholeheartedly recommend Adam Basement for basement repairs or waterproofing."

FAQs for mold & toxic material test projects in Dover, DE

Some companies offer a no‑cost phone or video consultation that screens for red flags. If the discussion points to a real issue, the pro will recommend a paid on‑site inspection. The complimentary call clarifies whether you need full testing, but it isn’t a substitute for samples, lab work, or a written report. Always confirm what the free service covers before you schedule.

A standard inspection, which includes basic air and surface samples, takes an average of two hours. If the pro needs to probe hidden spaces, such as wall cavities or ductwork, plan on up to six hours. Extra time allows the inspector to reach tight areas, collect additional samples, and document findings. Lab analysis is a separate process and often adds several business days to the overall timeframe before you receive the full report.

Mold thrives where moisture lingers and air flow is poor. Common hotspots include bathroom walls, kitchen backsplashes, window sills, HVAC vents, fireplaces, crawl spaces, and enclosed attics. Check these areas regularly—especially after leaks or high‑humidity weather—to catch growth early and avoid costly repairs.

Unchecked mold can knock 20% to 37% off a home’s market value because buyers worry about hidden damage and health risks. Even after remediation, visible staining or a history of major moisture issues can still lower offers and prolong the time on the market. Addressing mold quickly protects both your property’s structural integrity and its resale appeal.
