"Homeadvisor isn't giving me options other than metal roofing(?!), but that's not what I hired them for. They built a new bathroom (wall, toilet and 2 new sinks), renovated my basement, removed an oil tank, replaced some heaved flooring, installed new doors, and repaired some eaves and fascia boards. Everything went smoothly. I'm very happy with the work and enjoyed having them here. "

"We've worked with this company in the past and really appreciated the quality of work . They are not the cheapest contractor out there, but you can rely on them. Dave is very good at returning calls and communicating with his customers. His crews are smart, friendly and competent... I was told they would arrive on a certain day and they did, completing the job efficiently and cleaning up after themselves. Great company <br />"

"<p>The provider arrived on time. Was respectful of my home. Completed the job on time. My home was built in 1923 and has odd sized windows. I indicated that I wanted nice windows but didn't want to spend the money to order custom made windows to fit into the existing frame. Bostad's representative measured the existing window and suggested smaller windows. The smaller windows were installed. Since the windows were smaller than the existing rough opening the trim around the each window, both inside and out, needed to be resized as well. Bostad did a wonderful job of centering the windows in the existing rough opening and reinstalling the trim around each window. </p> <p>I had old double hung windows with sash cords and weights inside the frame. Bostad removed the old mechanics of the window and insulated all around each window. I now have nicely fitting windows that are energy efficient and warmer.</p> <p>I am very pleased with the work that was done and would definitely hire them again and would recommend Bostad to anyone.</p> <p><br /></p>"

"J. Benson was actually recommended by my insurance company.  The conflict of interest concerned me, so I talked to two rental owners (one of whom I knew) and two homeowners for references.  They were good, I signed the contract, and the J. Benson supervisor told me I would be satisfied with their work.  Everything went well.  Their subcontractors were cooperative.  J. Benson knew about fire restorations, they worked cooperatively with me and my insurance adjuster.  I came to trust J. Benson and the adjuster did also.  As issues came up such as  the quality of the replaced equipment or fixtures, or the detailing of a feature, the issues were resolved to my satisfaction (I was more involved in project oversight than the typical rental owner).  At the end of the job, I was satisfied, just as promised. <br /> It is now 2 1/2 years later, the the restoration has held up.  This review is tardy because I just didn't take the time; it should have been earlier. <br />"

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Duluth, MN

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
