I thought I had to choose between the high-cost, glossy brochure, licensed & reputable companies OR the cheap, unlicensed, pushy “if you ask for inspections the cost is double” contractors. Arafat quoted a much more reasonable price, gave excellent advice to help us build what would be most useful, never pressured us, and got all the appropriate permits & inspections. We were probably fairly high-maintenance clients, and Arafat was patient and kind, describing options as we went and modifying a ‘normal’ porch set up to reduce pollen so my highly allergic husband & daughters can enjoy the space. We absolutely love our new 3-season porch and pretty much live out here now. I strongly recommend going with Exterior Works for any outdoor project you have in mind."

When we chose to hire him to build the pantry, his secretary called to confirm the dates and times that the workers would be here. They arrived on time and worked a full day. They returned on time again the second day to finish the project. Very professional company, easy to talk to, and great finished project. "Rick and his Before and After Home Improvement “All-Star Team” provided outstanding professional work in replacing the water damaged posts supporting my deck and the design and work to complete a stamped concrete patio, walkway, and front porch. Our property sits on a hill such that water from our neighbor’s yard drains into our own with some of it settling against our house under the deck. The deck was constructed about 20 years ago with part of the wooden posts buried in the ground. Although the wood was pressure treated, over time, the marshy ground had compromised the integrity of the deck support posts. We had contacted several contractors to request proposed estimates. Some were unresponsive. Others would not fully address our concerns about correcting the water drainage and adding additional concrete to anchor the new deck support posts above ground. Rick was by far, the most responsive. He listened to our concerns and based upon his 45+ years of experience, provided several recommendations for correcting the damaged deck posts and the drainage issues on our property. He gave us a prompt and reasonable estimate. His team went to work right away. We were so pleased with the results that we discussed the idea of the patio and walkway. Again, Rick listened to our ideas and provided excellent recommendations to move us to a beautiful design. Upon contract award, Rick’s team went to work immediately. Rick himself visited the site on a daily basis and communicated with us on the progress. When we suggested some changes, he was very flexible and responsive. "There were a lot of people involved in the process to do the estimate, get the permits, order the material and schedule the job. The real work of building the new deck was done by two people - Eddy and Bryan. Eddy and Bryan were exceptional. They are both skilled carpenters who worked at a fast pace even as the heat and humidity got higher and higher. The new deck turned out to be very attractive and well-built. We are very happy with the end result."
