"We hired Barrier Construction to take care of some stucco issues and repair some structural damage on our house. They were great to work with. They were able to deal with both the structural issues AND the stucco issues, while all other companies we spoke to only dealt with one or the other (meaning we would have to hire and coordinate multiple contractors) and they did a great job. They even noticed and corrected some cosmetic issues (for al fee) that another company had created when working on the house. (They were a mild annoyance whenever we looked at the house but would have been a big lift for us to fix ourselves, and we appreciated their proactive approach when we felt the other company had been fairly neglectful and inattentive to detail in their work). While other general contractors we’ve worked with have been difficult to get ahold of or generally haven’t felt very ‘present’, Barrier was easy to communicate with, they kept us updated, were very responsive, and answered all of our questions. Initially we contacted him to replace some 65yr old windows, and he was the only contractor to bring to our attention that we had hail damage on the window wraps, siding, gutters, and roof. His experience really helped us thru the insurance claim process and it ended up being a huge cost savings for us. "Working with Trevor and his guys was AWESOME! He came out to our house, got the measurements, inquired about everything we were looking for in our new deck. He provided multiple options (Cedar, Composite, Combination of both types of materials) and provided his insights to help us make the best choice for us.  I got multiple bids for the job and his was by far the best. There was another builder who was trying to charge an additional $6,000 for the exact same deck. He completed the plans for us and stayed in email and phone contact with us the entire time.
He got the work underway a month before we were supposed to start, after checking in to make sure that was alright with us. Trevor and his guys did a wonderful job using a Herringbone pattern on the decking and really nice wood work for the railings and stairwell. They used routers to smooth the edges and added some nice detail. There isn't one thing we don't like about our new deck. 
As someone with limited experience in construction, I really appreciated that he had the expertise and ethics to do the best job possible. I would refer this company to anyone looking for an honest, hard working, attention to detail oriented builder. It is evident that these gentlemen love what they do and they are excellent at it.

"GCM Inc. recently contacted us as a follow-up for their work last Fall, and the call reminded us how they are a customer-oriented company which strives to keep customers satisfied.
They worked closely with us and the insurance company to carefully budget the work to be undertaken.
During the work itself they directed sub-contractors and sought our approval for those sub-contractors' performance.
GCM warranted the work per professional standards.
There was a problem with securing the work on time and also a problem in bringing back a contractor to complete part of the work. GCM made good on what the sub-contractor failed to complete.
Years ago we learned the hard way that storm-chasing contractors and laborers come and go with the weather.  Now we insist that our insurance carrier works with the contractors we know and trust to do the work well.

"Paramount Granite Company was a joy to work with! They offered an incredibly reasonable and detailed estimate (including options and their costs) within a day. When I visited their offices, I was treated with respect and courtesy. Barb answered my questions and showed me their slabs of granite (as well as the sinks and faucets they offer). I had already viewed slabs of granite at the various warehouses, but they had some beautiful pieces to choose from. I ended up picking a gorgeous piece of St. Cecelia granite from their selection, which just happened to be in the least expensive category.
The whole process was made easy by Angie's prompt and helpful responses to my emails. Paramount was flexible with my schedule when we needed to postpone the installation by a week. On the day of installation, the workers arrived on time and worked quickly and excellently. I was impressed when they discovered (from a spec sheet they brought along) that the particular slide-in range we had chosen needed rounded corners for the opening. The worker finished the job except for this part, drove back to the office and returned within the hour with the rounded piece to complete the job perfectly!
Paramount Granite Company is a first-rate company. I would highly recommend them to any of my friends. I am simply thrilled with my countertops and the excellent experience I had with Paramount.
