"The build was a bit tricky as the porch drops down to a patio of cobble pavers that we did not want disturbed . Josh was able to work around that and even replaced the existing forms for the cobble with a much more reliable and sturdy system. And in a manner that once the decking was installed the forms were completely hidden. The original form boards were visible and not visually appealing. Also Josh corrected several construction errors such as the lack of joist brackets on several joists, improper spacing of joists. Improper fastening methods such as screws or nails in the framing where there should have been bolts. Also he re-did all of the flashing which was also installed improperly. The finished project is a stunning visual improvement over the old porch, and affords us the piece of mind that it is structurally sound and code compliant. This is the third job Josh has done for us and we will contact him for the next project without hesitation. Josh does a fine job and walks you through his activities at various points to explain what and why of things as he goes along. He is punctual and tidy and willing to take smaller jobs that may only be a day or two. In our experience many contractors won't make time for the smaller jobs. Project cost updated to include materials cost."

"Well, the first time the replacement was ordered it was the wrong one, which of course, delayed the installation a week. When it was finally installed I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades. This I was not informed of by Home Shield. Then we noticed that there was water on the garage floor and found that the pipe coming in from the wall was leaking at the wall so had to call the plumbing company back out to fix it. They first tried to say it was not their fault but since there wasn't a leak before they installed they did fix it. I have used Home Shield a few times before and never had a problem. Some of the companies they use are not the best so you have to research them before you commit. I have found HS service to be good if you do your homework. At the end of the day I was without hot water for almost 3 weeks but it was do to the plumbing company they sent out."
