"The company provided prompt and outstanding professional service. They went the extra mile to evaluate not only my windows, but also surrounding areas, to ensure the damage had not proliferated. When the job was complete, the work was done so well I couldn't tell that they actually had to perform an extensive procedure to replace the windows. They left the area clean and as if nothing had traspired in the work area."

"Al came to my house to install the glass on my car. After he left, I discovered an issue with the glass, and Al quickly got a new side glass, called me, and arranged to install it at my convenience. It looks great. He also handled everything through my insurance company. I like dealing with local family businesses. By the way, you may have to tell your insurance company specifically that you want Al to do the work."

"I didn't have time to remove all the window covering and blinds before they arrived. The men were great- they said no problem and carefully removed all the blinds and hardware.  I had the same crew work at my home a few years ago when I had some of the siding replaced. Knowing the company has long term stable employees is reassuring to me. <br /> Here was the most unbelievable surprise.  In 2013 I had a large picture window and 2 smaller side windows replaced in the front of my house.  I never noticed that the grids did not match up perfectly in all three windows but when Clifton ( the owner) came to measure all the windows for replacement he did. He ordered a brand new picture window and replaced the large front window - at no cost to me- so the grids are in a perfectly straight line across all 3 windows! I actually had to go outside and look carefully at the  window to see why Clifton wanted it replaced. There was no charge for the window or for the labor to install the window. This is the kind of company you want to do business with. They care about every detail of the project. <br />"

"We had shopped around and decided to go with Masterpiece windows. We had 13 windows replaced. The people who did the installation seemed top notch. Avery and Jason were very professional and just as important punctual. If they said they were going to be there at a certain time they did. They are proud of their work and aren't just trying to get it done. They want it to look good and you to be happy with it. The quality of the windows we purchased seems great but I'll have to update later on whether or not they live up to my expectations which my wife says are unreasonable most of the time."

"Raleigh Window and Siding is a top notch customer oriented business. I spent weeks researching many window manufacturers (Okna is who we went with) and performance and pricing were key factors. The Okna windows that RW&S installed are very good quality and have energy ratings and functionality that will last for decades. Don't be confused with lower priced builder grade windows some sell for slightly lower prices. The owner Bruce was very responsive to any question or issue we had during the process. The install crew was Class A with their attention to detail unmatched. Nate is the head installer and knows this business inside out. He along with his two installers Chad and Craig did a superb job removing old windows, replacing rotted trim with PVC pieces, installing leveled windows, insulating, caulking and capping the outside trim. It looks amazing now that the job is complete. I would highly recommend the Okna window as a replacement and as there are two companies that install this window, I would highly recommend Raleigh Window and Siding to perform this work."

"Very quick installation. We met to measure the windows, and there was no pressure to purchase. Once we decided to purchase from Mr. Cato, the order was placed and we had set an appointment for the installation.  The installation took roughly 1 hour for 13 blinds and 1 curtain.  Overall we are very satisfied and very glad we found CJ's Blinds on Angies List! <br />"

"I would highly recommend Aluminum Company of NC. Several years ago, we had a large window replaced over the front door entry way. This year we noticed the window was smokey, called them up and sent a photo, window replaced no questions! They stand behind their lifetime warranty! After such great customer service, we just had all 19 windows replaced in our house. I would rate their customer service and installation team a 10! Showed up on time every day, cleaned away debris, and provided instructions on cleaning and care. Aluminum Company of NC thank you for great service. We love your new windows! R. Mangum"

"I recently had two sets of French doors installed to replace my old, inefficient doors. I always get quotes from several companies before I make a decision like this, and I decided to go with Windows, Doors & More. They definitely offered the best value for the money. Todd made the entire process very easy. During installation, his crew was very professional and had the job completed in no time and I couldn't be happier with the results! I had a minor issue with one of the doors and Todd came out personally to make an adjustment and to ensure I was 100% satisfied with the job. I highly recommend Windows, Doors & More!"

FAQs for new windows service projects in Durham, NC

Yes, bay windows add value to a home. They enhance the property by expanding the interior space and flooding rooms with natural light. Their unique three-panel design creates a stunning focal point that elevates curb appeal and modernizes living areas. This architectural detail increases both functional space and visual appeal, directly contributing to higher home resale value.

Yes, all window types have the potential to become part of a bay window configuration when modified correctly. The transformation involves reconfiguring standard windows into a multi-panel design that features a larger central window flanked by smaller ones. This process requires precise professional planning and custom framing to ensure durability, visual balance, and structural integrity.

Bay windows typically consist of three glass panels extending beyond the home's exterior walls, with a larger center panel flanked by two smaller ones. In contrast, bow windows are composed of four to six equally sized glass panels that create a gentle curve and do not extend as far from the exterior walls.

Bay windows cost more than standard windows because their expansive, multi-panel design requires additional materials and skilled labor. Their construction involves extra glass, specialized frame components that extend outward, and complex operating mechanisms. These technical demands necessitate precise engineering and multiple expert installations, thereby significantly increasing both material and labor expenses.

Bay windows cost three times more than standard double-hung windows because their design requires extra panels, expanded framing, and a more complex installation process. The advanced construction method increases material consumption and demands comprehensive expertise, while specialized window treatments further elevate expenses. This all results in a significant difference in overall project cost.
