"The quality of the physical products is very high. But let me be clear - I hired these guys because they appeared to be the least incompetent, not because they were the best. The first time they were scheduled to be at my house, they contacted me half an hour after I expected them to be there to tell me weather wouldn't allow installation. I had to harangue them to provide me with 24hr prior notice of the time they'd appear. Installation was not complete, service was lousy. I'm still fighting to get all my warranty info and to get screen door installed. There is NO consideration for the fact that I'm the customer or that I work for a living (how do you think I'm going to pay for these overpriced windows?). There is ZERO effort put into communications with customer. Every time something needs to be done, my schedule is secondary (at best). I found their salesman to be unprofessional."

"During high winds, a section of aluminum fascia had torn off and was damaged. Also, part of the gutters appeared to be coming lose. I called Heinrichs to see if they could recommend someone to do this repair. I did not think they would do it themselves, because most companies don't want to be bothered with such a small job. They came the next day to look at what needed to be done and two days later, two men came and did the repair. They replaced the damaged section of fascia and then went around the entire house re-nailing all the fascia and checking and securing the gutters. They were very polite and did a very good job. <br /> I was a little worried about how much this would cost and was very pleasantly surprised when the bill was $50.00 total. <br /> Also, on a previous occasion, I had Heinrichs check my roof after a particularly bad wind and hail storm. Fortunately, there was no damage and Heinrichs did not charge me anything for doing the inspection. <br /> It's great to have such a nice company in the community! <br />"

"Central Home Improvements is thoroughly organized and professional from initial contact to the end of the job and beyond. We've had a lot of work done (roofing, electric, flooring, energy, patio) on the house over the past several of years and CHI was the easiest to deal with out of any of the contractors, service providers and other folks we've worked with. Don worked with us patiently in going over a number of different roofing options, and for a metal roof, CHI was definitely the best combination of affordability, quality and ability to get the job done when we needed it. They had to work in conjunction with a solar-panel installer, and that process appeared to go seamlessly, even though the two had never worked together before. <br /> I can't really judge the quality of the roof any better than the next non-expert, but everything about this company made it seem trustworthy and honest. It's only been about eight months, but the gutters have certainly been tested in a pretty wet year and were installed exactly in the odd configurations I wanted, but with full discussion and suggestions from Don. The roof looks great and we've had no problems. And the small skylight -- a light tunnel, really -- is fantastic. Well worth the $800 or so we spent. You'd think a one-foot hole in the roof couldn't make a huge difference, but even on dreary days it's like having a gentle but bright lamp in a place that used to be gloomy all the time. Fantastic dispersion of natural light. My sister-in-law was looking for a way to turn it off the first time she saw it (and that was a grey afternoon). <br /> Really, there's not a lot I remember about the actual work, even though it went on for a long time and we had to coordinate a lot of stuff with our neighbors and CHI because of our small, cramped, shared driveway. We have a century-old home and it wasn't easy work, but the fact that it went so smoothly and I can't remember much of it now is a testament to CHI's professionalism. <br /> A few months later they sent us an invitation to their annual employee and customer appreciation dinner. Something about that feels kind of odd, since we really didn't get to know the crew very well (they pretty much refused to even come in to use the bathroom -- perhaps a company policy). Yet those kind of things make us appreciate Central Home's attention to detail. Had we not just come back from a long trip, we might have gone ahead and gone to the party anyway! It was certainly a good idea. Great company to do business with. <br />"

Justin B initially came out and gave an estimate and then we had him back a few months later to make adjustments and ask more questions before making the deposit and setting up the date for the project. On the day of installation Justin B was in North Liberty, IA and stopped by to check on the crew's progress . The Foreman Oscar M & Assistant foreman Jaime M were great at explaining what they were going to do and the expectations and time frame. The finished job looks great . They cleaned up and left the area spotless. We are very happy at the way the project turned out."

"<p>The work went exceptionally well,  The cost was somewhat higher because there was a need to break up concrete floor in basement for a drain pipe and then re-cement the floor.  Also, wood trim was replaced on floors, the bathroom painted and a new door with hardware installed.</p> <p><br></p> <p>We are exceptionally pleased with professionalism of Rob and his friendliness.  He all helped in a non=associated minor electrical task with no charge.</p> <p><br></p> <p>This is my son's home and my son had Rob do more remodeling work in his upstairs bathroom.  My son was exceptionally pleased with the work and with Rob.  My son has 3 children (2 toddlers) and Rob was able to adjust his work and schedule to accommodate the "family".</p>"
