"The experience was a nightmare from start to finish. He sold us on an experienced crew and then hired a sub contractor that he had no prior experience working with. For four weeks he sent one guy with no help and no oversight. Along the way there were a few large mistakes and numerous small mistakes. We spent thousands on cabinets, appliances and other materials that ended up dented and scratched. He left trash and scrap outside, broken glass in the yard, and trashed our deck. There was no electrical rough in inspection and the plumbing failed the first inspection. Overall Total Home Solution did the bare minimum and it shows in the finished product."

"Called Merryfield in early June to get a quote for replacing a leaky garden window in our kitchen.  George came out a few days later and spent a good while talking with me about the pros and cons of replacing the garden window with a similar model, or a simpler two-panel window.  I agreed that day to have him install the simpler window.  He said he needed to order it and would get back to me when it arrived at the end of the following week.  I hadn't heard anything even into the week after the window was supposed to arrive so I called to find out the status.  George said the window hadn't arrived yet but that it was coming soon.
Cutting to the chase, I had to call him again to find out what was going on, but he set up his schedule to install the window shortly after my second call.  When he came with an assistant to do the work, you can tell he cares about his work and finishing a quality job.  The window was installed well and he removed the old one.
Overall, a job well done and I would recommend using George, but would ask for some more proactive communication."

Him and his crew took measurements and went over every detail of the project, answering all my questions. Scheduled and started on time. Demoed powder room to bare studs and floors. Ran new plumbing to add shower. Ran new electric for GFI outlets. Installed new toilet,shower and vanity. Installed new tile in shower and floors. New sheetrock and paint. Finished on time. "John was very easy to work with in general.  He came in and assessed the job as promised & on time.  His quote was substantially less & his estimated timeline faster than other contractors I had come in for an estimate.  The original scope of the work was only the basement remodel including hardwood flooring, drywall repair, baseboard & crown mouldings.  His quote only included the labor portion of the work and did not include materials or disposal.  This was something that he was clear about at the beginning.  When I had questions about the types of materials to use or about options, he listened to my concerns and helped me understand the options available.  When John had questions about the job, he contacted me right away instead of assuming what I would want done.

I proposed the additional work soon after John started the job, and he quickly quoted and completed the additional work.  He even purchased & disposed of all of the materials for the work on the shed.  I offered several times to give him a partial payment to cover the cost of the work done so far, but John refused to take any payment until the job was completed.  John did everything as he said he would and kept coming back until I was completely satisfied.

John is someone that I would highly recommend for general contracting work as he was true to his word and his goal was my complete satisfaction."
