"Jason called immediately after I posted my request. He came to give an estimate to replace some baseboard, and I told him of issues with two of my toilets. He looked at them and fixed the problems right then! They were prompt to the appointment, neat, and professional. When I had an issue with the oil burner (due to draining of the system) he came back and fixed the problem. Definitely recommend!"

"Gibson White was recommended to me by the Noritz company as a certified installer. He provided a free onsite estimate. He then appeared to do research so that he would be fully prepared to do the work. He was very pleasant and professional to deal with. He had 2 men working with him who were also very pleasant. The job took longer than expected and cost much more money than expected because the gas pipes in the house had leaks and had to be changed. National Grid had to be called 3 times because of the gas pressure coordination, but the timing worked out well and the job got finished. It took 2 days to complete the work and Gibson was on the job for the full time. Considering that the gas pipes had to be replaced unexpectedly, the work went well and we now have hot water in the house. I would highly recommend hiring Gibson. I rated B for the price because I did not get an itemized bill with the breakdown of materials and labor. I received a list of what was done and a price for each thing. Considering the number of hours spent, the number of men on the job and the cost of the tankless hot water heater (listed on the website), I thought the price was very high. I do understand that there are other hidden costs involved, but I still felt the price was very high. I did not complain because I was satisfied with the work and the men were very pleasant and professional. I had extensive electrical work done in my house is Brooklyn and I got and itemized bill of materials and labor and I was very glad to pay the price because I understood what I was paying for."

"One of the hoses from the sink faucet sprung a leak and us taping it just wasn't cutting it, so we bought a new faucet and hose and had it installed. Also only replaced as much pipe under the sink as was needed, tested for leaks and everything works fine. <br /> Mike got to my house about 9:45ish am and out about 1-1/2 hours later. Expected to pay about what was charged. <br />"

"Heat went off again on Friday. <br /> Plumber came and fixed it for the 2nd time, only this time when he left I had no hot water. <br /> This has happened 2 other times with other plumbers so I knew what was wrong. <br /> They turn down the water heater thermostat so you don't get any hot water. I guess they think you will call them back so they can charge you for another house call. <br /> <br />"

"Mr. Faucet was recommended to me by PowerPro (who I had contacted regarding a whole-house generator, following Hurricane Sandy). <br /> After the propane gas tank was installed, Mr. Faucet connected it to the generator, digging an underground trench that is about 10 feet long. They arranged for Town of Huntington permit inspections, all of which went smoothly. <br /> Everyone at Mr. Faucet was professional, courteous, and very helpful. I had a major problem with the gas company they recommended (Paraco, see separate review), but Mr. Faucet was extremely helpful with that too, taking much time to explain things to me, and they did their best to help me with the gas company issues. <br /> In the three months since my generator has been up and running, there have been no issues with the plumbing work done by Mr. Faucet (or anything else). <br /> I highly recommend Mr. Faucet for plumbing work of this nature, and I recommend the generator company they worked with (PowerPro). However, be advised to stay away from the propane gas company (Paraco), based on my very bad experience with them; instead, I recommend Island Propane, who did a great job. <br />"

FAQs for gas piping projects in East Quogue, NY

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
