"????? If I could give zero stars, I would Hiring this contractor was a nightmare from start to finish. The bathroom they delivered is so poorly done that I feel like I need to redo it entirely. They rely on subpar subcontractors with no professionalism or craftsmanship. ? Overpromise and underdeliver: I had to stay on top of every detail myself, doing the job the contractor was hired to manage. ? Unreliable: Never kept appointments or confirmed schedules. The only time they showed up on time was to collect payment. ? Unsafe practices: At one point, a subcontractor was cutting concrete inside the bathroom with a gas?powered tool, filling my entire home with smoke. I had to intervene to stop it and argue just to get basic protections like tarps in place. ? Poor management: Subcontractors openly complained about not being paid, and I even had to send one home myself because of unacceptable behavior. ? End result: Substandard work that does not reflect the money spent. Save yourself "

"Excellent. They finished the job quickly, did excellent work and provided spotless cleanup. I would highly recommend them. The job involved tearing down an existing chimney, rebuilding and reflashing it and replacing the surrounding roofing."

"These guys were amazing from start to finish. The communication from beginning to end was exceptional. Joe arrived on the date agreed and was very punctual, He first explained very clearly the process that he was using and how effective it would be in preventing water from entering my basement through this crack in the foundation. He then proceeded with his work and did so quickly and efficiently leaving no mess behind. I am thoroughly impressed with A-1 and wholeheartedly and highly recommend their high quality services. Plus, with their 10 year warranty, you can rest comfortably. Without doubt, these guys are A1."

"Laurie was very friendly, competent and professional. She kept me informed at all steps in the coordinating of the project. She coordinated the custom making of the window trim with Shelley for the half moon window. She arrived for the estimate visit when she said and also for the actual trim repair. I am thoroughly pleased with her work and that of her associate, Charlie. When finished, they left the place so clean, you wouldn’t even know that they were working here. Very please and will use them again!"

"Services were performed as requested. The company's crew showed up on Mondays on a regular basis to cut our lawn. The irrigation system malfunctioned early in the summer resulting in large bare patches. The irrigation folks were obviously not informed as the lawn mowers kept mowing as the bare spots appeared and grew."

"This is a company no one needs to deal with. He was asked to diagnose a leak in my gas fireplace flue. After first charging $150.00 for a "review" of the fireplaces in my home, he concludes that the storm collar is causing the leak into my firebox. He charges me $250.00 for this and, after several weeks, I note that the water is continuing to leak. I call him out again and he decides that, now, the cap should be replaced. I called again after hearing the water dripping and he now decides that he had advised me at the first meeting that the cap needed replacement. This is a blatant untruth and the invoices don't support that he so advised me of this. Any reputable business would have so noted this on any invoice for work performed. When I so advised him of this, his only reply was to hang up the phone. If he had, at any time, advised me initially of the need to replace the cap, I would have done so and not even bothered with the collar as it wasn't the cause as I have, unfortunately, came to discover. This company doesn't have the expertise to properly diagnose a problem even though the owner touts his 38 years of experience. Stay away!"

"The wind had blown off our chimney cap. It was still in good shape and just needed someone to climb on the roof and put it back on. Other companies gave me a song & dance about how it needed to be replaced ($400), it was more complicated than it looks, has come take a look before giving a firm price, blah blah blah. Ed was no-nonsense, quoted me a reasonable price over the phone for such a simple job ($100), and got the job done the next day. No BS. A year later, it's still snug and tight. I'm happy."

"Spring clean-up was good. Some branches of a ground cover evergreen were broke & sheered(discovered later that spring). The estimate included debris removal, but that was lost in translation, never got done. Our yard is a 3rd of an acre including the house's foundation, yet it took 8 yds of mulch. Well, that's what we were charged, anyway. Word to the wise, always insist on a bill with your name on it from the wholesaler supplying the mulch to make sure you're getting what you pay for! Especially, if it's being dispensed from the back of a truck! We used to order 3 yds. of mulch and have it delivered. So, I know what 3 yrds of mulch can cover. We would then distribute the mulch throughout the yard. It seemed to be sufficient. So, when you find yourself weeding beds when you paid for a lot of mulch you've got to wonder, did I really get 8 yds of mulch? In my opinion, I don't think so. We also had a couple of trees cut down to the ground with the understanding they would come back(when it was less busy) to plant a tree in the void created. Haven't heard from them since. I guess they don't always return to the scene. Kiril, you said you'd call me in June/July to plant that tree, Remember? Updated 8/7/2019: rebuttal to provider's response Review Text: We discussed the pile of brush during your initial visit and it was supposed to be part of your estimate. When you finished the original job, the pile of brush was still there. I pointed that out to you and at that time you said that would be a separate charge. I let it go. Did you include the 2 yds of mulch you claimed you had in your truck from a previous job? Your paperwork doesn't prove anything! If there was 3" to 4" of mulch in the beds, there would be no weeds. Not with 5 yds. or 8 yds. on less than a 3rd of an acre. You called me a couple of weeks ahead of your scheduled appt. to say you had a day free and wanted to do the mulch. I should have realized something was up. No, I'm not changing my review, because in my opinion I did not get what I paid for."

FAQs for brick or stone siding: install or completely replace projects in East Dennis, MA

Brick siding offers numerous advantages, including high durability and resistance to harsh weather conditions, requiring minimal maintenance and lasting for generations. It provides natural insulation, enhancing energy efficiency by regulating indoor temperatures year-round. Brick is fire-resistant, improving home safety, and reduces external noise for a quieter indoor environment. Its timeless aesthetic appeal boosts curb appeal and can increase your home's resale value.

Yes, you can add brick to an existing house. One option is to remove the current siding and install full brick masonry, which involves laying traditional bricks with mortar for a solid brick exterior. Alternatively, you can opt for brick veneer siding, a thinner layer of real or manufactured brick applied over the existing structure. Brick veneer is typically more affordable and easier to install while still providing the aesthetic benefits of brick. Both methods can enhance your home's appearance and value.

Yes, installing brick siding often provides a significant return on investment. With an average ROI of around 77%, and some returns exceeding 80%, brick siding enhances curb appeal, energy efficiency, and longevity, making your home more attractive to potential buyers and potentially increasing resale value.

Brick siding is known for its exceptional longevity, often lasting over 100 years when properly maintained. Regular maintenance, like repointing mortar joints, ensures its durability over time. Brick veneer, while thinner than full brick masonry, is durable and can last up to 50 years or more with proper care. Both options offer long-lasting protection and value for your home.

When choosing brick siding, consider your budget, as costs can vary depending on brick type and installation method. Also, consider your desired aesthetic; different bricks offer various colors, textures, and styles to complement your home's architecture. Installation time and complexity are factors, with options like brick veneer being quicker and less labor-intensive than full brick masonry. Additionally, assess the maintenance requirements and durability to select the best option for your long-term needs.

Alternatives to brick siding include vinyl siding, which is cost-effective and low-maintenance and offers a variety of colors and styles. Wood siding provides a natural, classic look but requires more upkeep to prevent weather damage. Fiber cement siding is durable and can mimic the appearance of wood or masonry without the high maintenance. Each alternative has its own advantages, so consider factors like budget, aesthetics, and maintenance when making your choice.
