Not the case - the problem was a water logged expansion tank. Joe drained the system, installed a new expansion tank, a new automatic water feed with back flow prevention, a new 30 psi pressure relief valve, and a new automatic air vent. All the replaced components were old, so it made good sense to me to replace them. Joe even installed shut-off valves on the water feed and expansion tank line so that if new the expansion tank ever becomes defective, it can be replaced without having to drain the system.
