"We are repeat customers of Lizotte. In the 23 years that we have been in our house, they have installed a shower door for us and replaced the glass on a half moon window that had a broken seal. I have also purchased mirrors from them. For this job, we needed them to replace the glass on two exterior doors since the frames had buckled due to manufacturer defect. The doors were under warranty and the manufacturer sent us the replacement glass and frames. We contacted Lizotte to see if they would install the glass for us. Unfortunately, the manufacturer sent us the wrong parts and Lizotte had to come out twice to do the work; Lizotte was very nice about coming out again since it was not their fault the door manufacturer screwed up. The workers were very friendly, they did quality work, and cleaned up very well after themselves. The doors look like brand new."

"Chris was incredibly professional throughout the process of replacing our skylights and roof. He gave us options to choose from, ordered the necessary parts for the job, then soon came with his crew to get the work done. He communicated every step of the way, provided insurance, license and reference info promptly, and got in all done smoothly. We were so pleased, we also requested replacement of our rain drain covers with some high quality replacements."

"I used this company for a number of years and the overall service is no longer the same. I had them over to clean my gutters and I witnessed ladders slamming against the side of my house and they tore one of the edges from the corner of my roof with their step ladder. I will not use them going forward."

"Steve is awesome! He does amazing work and communicates about everything. Steve replaced our door and and the rotting floor behind it. He also painted all the walls and trim in the main parts of our house. He hired a plasterer to fix our ceiling in our kitchen and he will be back to replace one of our windows in the front too. We will definitely be hiring him again."

"I can’t say enough positive things about our experience! We not only had our roof replaced, we were so impressed with the quality and efficiency of their work, we ended up hiring them to replace our windows! Their crew of Joe P, Freddy, Cappy, Matt & David were not only professional, they were extremely friendly and informative! We would hire them again in a minute! We are beyond satisfied! If I could give them 10 stars, I would! Phil & Angie Welsh "

"Overall we were extremely happy with the result. They went above and beyond in all aspects. We worked with John in ordering the windows, and he went through all the details numerous times to ensure we got what we wanted. He even met us at the showroom on a Saturday to fit with our schedule. The windows turned out great- and for a fraction of the price another company quoted in the Boston area. Highly recommend United Better Homes and hope to use them again for a roof or new doors."

"Preface to this review - I am a MA licensed Construction Supervisor, and I am a Project Superintendent for large commercial projects for a Boston-area general contractor, so I speak from considerable experience with roofing contractors. In mid January 2020, I signed a deal for a solar power system, contingent upon replacement of my old roof. The solar company recommended Greater Boston Roofing, a company they had frequently worked with. I agreed, and they completed the job on January 29th. The company did a fantastic job. The crew was courteous, professional, and efficient. They treated my property with care, and performed the entire job in one day; almost exactly eight hours. The comprehensive project included the following: 1. Stripping all existing roofing 2. Removing two roof-mounted bathroom exhaust vents, re-routing the associated flex duct to soffit vents (to make that space available for a solar panel), and eliminating the holes by replacing that sheet of plywood - not just little patches 3. New ice & water shield 4. New air, vapor, and water barrier 5. New drip edge 6. New pipe boots on my plumbing and furnace vents 7. New chimney flashing 8. New ridge vent 9. New architectural shingles 10. Removal of all trash; the dumpster was gone by 7:30 the next morning When the crew arrived, the foreman discussed the job with me. I made him aware of a couple of details that I expected - one that was promised to me, and one that hadn’t been previously discussed. He took care of both of them without dispute and without asking for a change order. Safety - the crew followed proper safety protocol, including: 1. Installing temporary tie-off anchors at the ridge, and clipping on with ropes, rope grabs, lanyards, and harnesses. 2. Using a motorized ladder-climbing device to hoist the materials to the roof, eliminating the potential hazard of climbing the ladder while carrying a heavy load. 3. Wearing a Tyvek-type suit and full-face respirator while working around the multiple layers of insulation in the attic to re-route the bath exhaust ducts. Clean-up: 1. A dumpster was delivered shortly before the work started, and was placed exactly where I had previously instructed GBR to place it, with wood placed under the wheels to prevent damage to my driveway. 2. The crew set up large tarps to protect the house and my landscaping, and to facilitate easy clean-up. 3. When I arrived home at the end of the day, my yard was at least as clean as when they started. 4. The dumpster was removed early the next morning. I received an e-mail saying they were done, along with a link to a series of progress photos. This crew did everything the right way. The job has been done for over two weeks now, and the roof has performed perfectly in the rain. I highly recommend Greater Boston Roofing."

FAQs for new windows service projects in East Providence, RI

Yes, bay windows add value to a home. They enhance the property by expanding the interior space and flooding rooms with natural light. Their unique three-panel design creates a stunning focal point that elevates curb appeal and modernizes living areas. This architectural detail increases both functional space and visual appeal, directly contributing to higher home resale value.

Yes, all window types have the potential to become part of a bay window configuration when modified correctly. The transformation involves reconfiguring standard windows into a multi-panel design that features a larger central window flanked by smaller ones. This process requires precise professional planning and custom framing to ensure durability, visual balance, and structural integrity.

Bay windows typically consist of three glass panels extending beyond the home's exterior walls, with a larger center panel flanked by two smaller ones. In contrast, bow windows are composed of four to six equally sized glass panels that create a gentle curve and do not extend as far from the exterior walls.

Bay windows cost more than standard windows because their expansive, multi-panel design requires additional materials and skilled labor. Their construction involves extra glass, specialized frame components that extend outward, and complex operating mechanisms. These technical demands necessitate precise engineering and multiple expert installations, thereby significantly increasing both material and labor expenses.

Bay windows cost three times more than standard double-hung windows because their design requires extra panels, expanded framing, and a more complex installation process. The advanced construction method increases material consumption and demands comprehensive expertise, while specialized window treatments further elevate expenses. This all results in a significant difference in overall project cost.
