"Job went well. Mr Cooper's son ran the call along with a helper. He had to remove commode so he could access area in wall where pipe was located. He cut out a section of drywall, repaired pipe, and installed an access panel so the pipe feeding outside faucet could be accessed if need be in the future. Quality of work was very good. <br />"

"Needed to replace an existing Air Conditioning and HVAC unit. The 9 Seer HVAC unit was 27 years old and the 11 SEER AC unit was 15 years old but using heating strips to heat the house in the winter. The heating strips had burned out and the cost of running these units were mounting. I decided it was time to get new units. After researching various units, I found that the Amana units had a great rating and a lifetime warranty on all parts. 10 year labor warranty. This warranty is the best in the business. After having a few different guys come over and explain the work that they proposed, I felt most comfortable with A-1 Hobbs as they actually talked about removing all of the old equipment. The guys were very knowledgeable and proficient. They had the downstair's AC unit's out and replaced in less than a day. The upstairs unit was replaced in two days. <br /> <br />The thermostat was one that talked to both the outside and airhandler unit. The thermostat told me that there was an issue that needed the guys to come back out. I called and they promptly came back out and quickly realized that the problem was not on their end but with the electrical. They told us of the problem and fixed it with no charge. This is a small company that works hard to please the customer. I would highly recommend these guys for a replacement. <br /> <br />"

"Incredibly great work. Jamie and his staff were prompt in getting my cast iron coated and sealed. He was very kind and caring about our situation (stopped working at 7pm one night so that the kids could go to bed since what he was doing was making quite a bit of noise). He made sure things were cleaned up when finished. I was very thankful of how he was walking us through the process of what he was doing to the pipe. Helped my wife and I understand the steps it took to get the cast iron usable again. I would 100% recommend this company to anybody in the CSRA."

"Sanders plumbing personnel are exceptionally knowledgeable, having been in this line of work for over 20 years, and never once talked down to me. I am a single female and get exceptionally irritated when a service professional treats me as though I wouldn?t understand what they are saying. Not a hint of that here. They are well spoken and engage in conversation easily but not to the point that they are wasting time or money. This company has a very professional appearance. Their vehicles are clean and polished, their gear is well maintained and modern. The personnel are clean, well groomed, and exceptionally friendly. <br /> <br /> Previously, I had 2 plumbers come to clear a clog in my drain line. They ?snaked? it using the vent line and said it was clear. It wasn?t. It drained for several flushes then backed up again. <br /> <br /> Sanders would not stop at a simple snaking operation. He could tell there was still an obstruction. My home is over 100 years old. The plumbing was old steel and vitrified clay pipes with no outside cleanout and a very limited crawl space for access. He crawled under the house several times (a terrifying experience for even myself and one of my favorite hobbies is underground caving) to completely analyze the situation. <br /> <br /> He made pictures to explain every detail to me so I wouldn?t have to crawl under myself. He was thorough and professional in his explanation without being condescending. The pipes were sloped incorrectly which didn?t help the situation, but he knew that wasn?t the whole of the problem. The piping had blown apart from the back-force of the clog, leaking sewage under my house. The house didn?t have indoor plumbing when built and was ?homeowner-installed? so I suspected as much. <br /> <br /> After hand digging for nearly an hour in hard Georgia clay, they still could not uncover the line to the street. Other plumbers had simply run the snake until they heard it and marked it ?located?. The pipe was much deeper than suspected, making the sound carry oddly and was, indeed, well off from the mark of the last company. <br /> <br /> Sanders offered several options for resolving the problem, but only one was the correct fix. The next day a backhoe was in my front yard. The pipe was over 8 feet in the ground and obstructed by a huge slab of granite from the old city street, but they didn?t stop until the problem was found and resolved. I have a large tree and the roots had almost completely obstructed the tap. They spent the entire day and half of the next re-plumbing under the house and installing the new line to the street. <br /> <br /> They also worked with the city to get the tie-in made quickly. The city left their tap cleanout high and it was an eyesore in the middle of my front yard. Dallas leveled it with the grade so it looks as nice as a 6? pipe can. He never gave up until I was completely happy."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Edgefield, SC

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
