"After a great experience with Wood Rot Solutions last Winter when I had 6 windows rebuilt and re-framed, I did not hesitate to call JD with another wood rot job.
They arrived on time, and worked efficiently.
They removed the old rotten wood, built a new vent assembly on my front walk, and carefully lifted it into place, 28' off the ground.
While up there, they noticed some of my new, 2nd story windows (Installed by another company) had NO caulk on the top edges of their frames, and when they were finished installing the new vent, they caulked the windows as well.
JD is a detail oriented, hard worker who does his best to make sure that the job is done right, and done once, as his motto says.

"We hired Aaron to replace our staircase which was original to the house. He replace the railings, wrapped the newel posts, added new spindles, and replaced the skirts. He was timely with his communication and showed up when he said he would. He cleaned up after himself and left us impressed! "We had shopped around quite a bit before we decided to go with Continental Siding, mainly because of the appearance with the seamless siding and the quality of the materials. We were also impressed by the patented installation process that allows for expansion and contraction of the siding. The preparation of the house prior to the actual installation was over and above the competitors. We liked the added insulation value to our home with the styrofoam backing that formed to the exterior siding and also provided additional support. As the project began we were impressed by the professionalism of the installation crew and their willingness to listen to any concerns that we may of had, which were always resolved. Ryan and his team were very professional.  They showed up in a timely fashion and they picked up the trash and debris from the old windows promptly.  Andy and the team worked very hard to get the installation done and they checked with me to verify that I was pleased with the job before they left.  Ryan gave me a follow up call to see if I was pleased with the work and has offered to come by if there are any additional questions or concerns.  This was a good experience, and I would highly recommend their work.

"Ron Scott, the owner, came out in mid-September and viewed the home. He made several good suggestions about making carpentry repairs that would prevent damage and wood rot in future. Ron also pointed out the siding on the front showed water damage from age and suggested replacing siding on the garage. He promised an estimate within and day on the painting and siding and the garage with Hardy board, and complete the estimate of the carpentry, wood/trim replacement after his crew inspected. An estimate arrived by email late that evening. It was reasonable and including the specific repairs and adjustments he had recommended. He said it might be 6 weeks before he could get a crew out. Fortunately, White Dog called about a week later and said they could send a crew out earlier, if it was convenient. A four person crew showed up in early October and began work removing the damaged siding, rotted wood and preparing the rest of the house for painting. Tony and his three crew members showed up promptly at 9AM every weekday and left around 6PM. Ron came out on the 2nd day and went over the carpentry and repair estimate. He also suggested that replacement of the lap siding on the garage, in time, might not match up well with the rest of the front of the home and putting Hardy board siding across the whole of the front might be an option and gave me an additional quote for the whole front. I agreed to the carpentry and replacing the entire front with Hardy board lap siding. Work continued 6 workdays to completion. It was necessary for me to communicate the specifics of the adjustments and repairs to the gutters and other carpentry items mentioned in the contract but not communicated clearly to the crew. I had noticed that a different brand of Hardy board had been used to finish up the small pieces at the end of the job. It appeared they were damaged to some extent, as if used before. I mentioned this to the crew prior to priming the house and again to Noah Scott, at the final walk inspection. They did not admit not all the siding was new, nor did they deny it either. Ron was particularly sensitive when I first mentioned this in the review and insisted all the siding was new, even though different manufacturers. I suggested producing the invoices showing 2 different purchases of Hardy board. Still waiting to see the invoices. The preparation, caulking, and prime/final coats were expertly done. The house looked brand new. I paid the extra $350 to have them use Sherwin Williams' Duration paint. The last paint job was done with Duration and it held up exceptionally well. As I went back to wash the windows, spruce up the outside, I found that some of the wood trim replaced had the screws driven into the widow tracks, instead of the widow frame. Also, storm widows and doors had not been reinstalled with more air gap than I would have preferred. Two outside lights did not work and it was necessary to reinstall them. I had made White Dog aware of all of these, the whole crew came out as quickly as weather would permit and reattached some of the trim properly and caulked and repainted. I repaired the other items myself. Additionally, White Dog offered to paint an interior room or other handyman work to compensate for the inconvenience."

"Overall, everything went well.  He arrived on time.  He was very conscious about cleaning up after working. The outlet in my garage and the bathroom light fixture were a challenged to install so it took him about 90 minutes to install it. The light fixture needed a box but he managed to run a wire through the dry wall to install without using a box.  He spent about 30 minutes to replace the two electrical boxes which had worn out.
He appeared to be very honest and he did great work.  His prices were reasonable too.

"When they manufactured my first cover they got it wrong, but when I called them about it, they quickly reacted and got me the right one.  They were nice about it, no hassles or anything.   The work they did turned out excellent.  I'd say they do good work; they make a mistake, they fix it. "

"Everyone was extremely nice and professional and very responsive to my questions.

The handyman work included fixing a metal strip on the garage door opening, installing a new can light, shaving 3 bathroom doors, a small bit exterior paint touch up, getting a stuck door open and tightening screws, and some good advice.   The other work was a lot of interior painting including spraying ceilings, 2 new steel doors to the outside, 1 small concrete pad, 3 permanent aluminum awnings.   I am very pleased with the outcome.    Thank you 5 Star!
