"I called several contractors before I found this one. He was able to come to my home the same day as the water incident. He and his crew of two others were able to pull up the wet carpet and tile, cut out the wet sheetrock, and set up fans and dehumidifiers, all in two and a half hours. He came back the next day to check on everything. After the basement was dry he came back to spray mold suppressant. He was very professional and friendly in dealing with me. I would highly recommend him to my friends."

"We have used The North Star Companies for several jobs in the past, with the most recent being the largest. We hired them do a complete renovation of our home in Severn. The job grew larger as demo began and turned into a job requiring the rebuild of exterior walls, demo of concrete slabs - basically the house had to be rebuilt from the ground up. All new plumbing, electric, framing, windows, siding, roof, etc. I have known Chris for 20+ years and was confident that our forever home would be solid and done right. We had a few hiccups throughout the process - as this was done during Covid, so there were supply issues, delays and so forth, but Chris and his guys did an amazing job. We couldn't be happier and are continuously getting compliments on our beautiful home. Chris has been and will continue to be our go-to for any construction needs for us and our family and friends."

"MoldGone was somewhat hard to deal with but ultimately agreed to work on this until the air was normal and they had good reviews so I hired them. They did the first treatment and I had an air test done. It showed there was still high mold levels. I immediately asked them to return to fix it--as we had agreed. Jay argued and argued but eventually agreed to. On the day agreed, they claim they came but could not work since no one answered the door. We had already agreed I would not be there--and that both doors would be open so they could begin. Jay forgot to tell the workers AND he failed to call/e-mail me while they were there to ask me. So I am out ANOTHER $300 for the hotel and still no mold remediation. I again sent e-mails asking when they would come back. Jay admitted the communication failure was his fault but still said he would not reschedule the job. This time Jay refused to do the job--instead offering to just do "cold fogging" Next, Mike Mulieri(VP of the company) entered the picture. He assured me he would resolve the problem. Instead he made it worse. He dragged it out, argued back and forth with Angi and still refused to refund money or do a re-treatment of my place. I view MoldGone as slick, dishonest folks who try to talk their way out of any problem- but not actually remedy their mistakes. Now I'm on my way to the courthouse."

"This company has charged me over 4000 dollars in Maintenance charges which I paid I have all my Receipts stating I don’t owe them anything they charge me 200 dollars for a celling leak which they came out to look at it didn’t fix the issue they also charged me 900 dollars to put carpet down in my front room not the whole house 900 dollars is Ridiculous I have reached out to them Several times dispute these charges by emails letters phone calls keep getting the manger chade lane will give me a call I waited months so I took matters into my owe hands I reach out to the Better business bureau Maryland legal aide the attorney General they all wrote letters emails on my behalf asking for Documentation for the balance dunne Wright saying I owe which they couldn’t Produce if I owe the balance what’s hard about sending over paperwork this company is very shady I don’t understand how they are still in business if you google this company you will see they had a class action law suite against them in 2016 for doing the same thing they doing to me to other tenants"

"I called and spoke with Trey regarding his company coming out and servicing my basement. I (still) need the area dried out after my sump pump failed/drained backed up during the recent tropical storm (Isaias). Trey was great (on the phone). Very informative and personable. He told me to send him pictures via text and to call back with my insurance claim number and they would be able to work with me. I called about 3 times and left 2 messages over the course of the next 2 days. Five days later I still have not heard back from Trey or anyone with his company I am VERY disappointed at how he handled this. I had cancelled potential service with another well-known company (I was in their rotation for a call-back) to use Raines because they are local and have great reviews (as I mentioned his reviews to Trey on the phone). Now I am going to just use the other company, which is pushing my appt date even further out. I don’t know why I never received a call back from Raines, but I know this is NOT the way to do business."
