"A crew from Groundworks installed eight floor supports and encapsulated our crawl space last week. Jorge, Isaac, Kenny, Zacch, and Anthony did a great job! They worked very long hours to complete our project in a timely fashion and were great to interact with. They identified several plumbing and air duct problems and brought them to my attention. Jorge, the team leader, was great about communicating with me and keeping me well informed. The after job clean-up was very thorough. Jorge has been available by phone for my questions even after they have moved on to another job. These guys are very deserving of five stars. Also, I want to give a shout out to Anthony who did our inspection/estimate. He was very thorough and patient and made everything understandable. Another five-star guy!"

"We used Vesta Foundations for our driveway repair. Mike, Omar, and Rudy did an incredible job and were very professional. They explained the different phrases as they completed each repair which was very helpful. They used a foam to fill in the voids underneath our driveway and also sealed our joints and put a drainage system from our gutters to carry the water on down the side of the driveway."

"We asked Rain Tamer to install sure profile gutters and downspouts using metal to match out metal roof. Rain Tamer had the materials fabricated with the same finish as the roof and did the installation. We initially met with Dustin to get an estimate. He was promo in responding to our initial contact and clear and professional in assessing our situation and providing both advice on how to proceed and an estimate. It was our only estimate because we felt it was very reasonable. The installation followed about two weeks later. The installers were hard working, pleasant and professional. It was freezing cold but they were out there working hard all day long. The quality of work was very nice. We had one small problem because I changed my mind about one feature half way through the job. Dustin handles this really nicely (it must have been annoying) and figured out a way to solve my problem without adding great expense. Overall, a great professional job. I highly recommend this company."

"The tech was very polite and on time. I was charged more than $400 to run a camera through the lines and told I needed a backflow valve at an estimated cost of $3,600. I asked another company to come out, and they ran a camera for free. They said I do not need a backflow valve but if I wanted one it would be $800. Ended up I needed new toilets (holes underneath the rim were mostly clogged), which were never mentioned by the first tech."

"After I called them the plumber was here within an hour.  He did a great job of repairing the leak and getting the water back on in a short time.  I was very pleased by the professionalism and the speed of getting the job done.  The coupling that was put on to repair the water pipe failed.  I called them again and they were out here right away and redid the job with a stronger coupling.  They did not charge for the second visit.  I will use them again if I have any more plumbing problems."

"They are honest about things that needed to be done, that he could or could not do. He has a lot going on and so he has to work on bigger project first but that is common. Sometimes if he do not have a big job you cannot really expect to get quick service, that kind of goes for a lot of people. I would use his services again in the future, as eventually it’s the right thing."

FAQs for basement drainage channels installation projects in Elk City, OK

Expect a well-built French drain to last 30 to 40 years. By channeling both surface- and ground-water away from your foundation, the system relieves hydrostatic pressure and helps prevent costly structural damage. Choose a pipe with a quality cloth filter to keep sediment out and extend the drain’s life. A quick annual inspection and routine cleanouts will keep water flowing freely, ensuring the system continues to protect your home for years to come.

Most French drains sit two feet below grade, but depth ultimately depends on the problem you’re solving. For puddling rainwater or snowmelt, a shallow curtain drain at lawn level often does the trick. To handle rising groundwater, pros dig deeper, down to the footing, and run the pipe beneath the basement slab. A drainage contractor will determine the optimal depth for your specific soil conditions and water issues.

A properly installed interior French drain captures water at the slab, channels it to a sump pit, and directs it safely outside, preventing basement floods before they occur. Because the pipe sits just under the floor edge, a plumber can reach it easily for cleaning or repairs. Pairing the drain with a reliable sump pump gives you the best long-term protection.

Hire a contractor who installs drainage systems every day—typically a foundation specialist, drainage contractor, experienced landscaper, or plumber with waterproofing experience. These pros understand slope, soil, and local codes, and they have the equipment to trench safely around utilities. Ask for references and photos of recent jobs to be sure they can design a system that keeps water off your foundation for decades.

Once the drain is in, patch the yard by reseeding bare spots or replacing plants the crew removed. Inside, look for ways to add value—finishing the basement or upgrading interior waterproofing while the space is open often costs less now than later. Schedule a quick annual checkup to flush sediment and confirm the pipe and sump pump are clear. Consistent maintenance ensures the drain functions properly and protects your investment.

Most policies don’t cover the cost of repairing a French drain itself, but they may provide coverage for water damage if the system fails. Coverage varies by insurer, so be sure to read the fine print or contact your agent before any issues arise. If you live in a high-risk flood zone, consider a separate flood policy to close the gap. Knowing your coverage in advance helps you budget for repairs and avoid unexpected costs.
