I was advised to use glass break alarms within 10 ft of my first floor windows, which we installed correctly. I asked prior to installation if having one in the kitchen would cause false alarms due to dishes clanging, etc. I was told the glass break alarms are configured to a precise frequency that alarms with breaking glass. So, not a "no", but not really an answer. Well, every time we cook dinner, wash dishes or empty the dish washer, the kitchen glass break alarm gives a warning which would sound the alarm if it was set. This has caused us a number of false alarms while we've been away due to shifting bowls or plates in our drying rack. For the first several we've had to pay our police department $120 to check the house, and I was only notified after the first alarm that there was a cheaper option for a security company to drive by to check for a break in."

"I have nothing but positive feedback about this company. I found them after getting an extremely high quote from Magnolia Center in our local Best Buy. My situation could have been tricky: I needed one 65" TV mounted to a solid brick fireplace. Magnolia would have required an engineer, a project manager and two installers to come out over the course of 2-3 different visits, gathering photos and stalling on my final quote. I quickly sourced two other quotes, including that of Smart Home. SO HAPPY I DID! For 40% less, I had two talented installers at my house within four days doing an INCREDIBLE job installing both the 65" and also a 46" in my son's game room. They were so neat and precise. I must specifically call out Jordan. This installer was EXCELLENT. He saw the brick fireplace as a challenge initially, but you could see the wheels turning in his head. He went into the attic. He paced the living room. He communicated a few scenarios. He suggested a test case. In the end, his test case worked, and my brick mounting scenario turned out PERFECT.
This is not a quick process. Two installers (including an equally wonderful Julian) were at my house from about 11:30 until 5:30 or so installing two TVs. But the time spent was more than worth it. I now have completely concealed wires, fully functioning TVs, DVRs and an Xbox, and a bill that was at just a fraction of what I feared I would have to pay.
I will absolutely have these guys back out for some related electrical work and also to install a sound bar at some point in the future.
