"The process was extremely simple. I called and that day spoke with Anthony who helped with all my questions and pricing out what I wanted. I even forgot a few questions and called back and Anthony was very helpful. The owner Danny came out to do the measurement and contract to order the windows. I was told the windows would come in in a few weeks and they came in much sooner. I was traveling for work and wasn't able to get ahold of Danny during the day due to my work schedule. He was extremely accomodating and assisted me through email. They day they came to install they came at 8:30 am and were done by 2 pm. they did an excellent job and my windows look great. <br />"

"9/16/16 Signed contract to replace a bow window with 3 double-hung windows. 9/26/16 Technician takes inside/outside measurements. 11/9/16 Installers arrive. Job not completed due to defective/missing components. Installer and I reviewed work completed, I signed Zero Defect Form with installer notes, paid balance due, holding back 10% for work not completed. 11/10/16 Call from Rich Cavanaugh, CRM. I am disappointed project not completed. He said I would hear from Service in about 2 weeks. 12/1/2016 I called Service, left message, no call back. 12/2/2016 I called Service. Told me I should get a call next week to schedule. 1/3/17 I called Service and was told everything in. Will call back with date. 1/4/17 Call from Service with date. 1/16/17 Service tech arrives without all components to complete job. After a couple of phone calls and much discussion he goes to local lumber yard and buys what he needs to complete exterior work and installs it. Interior work must be delayed until a window sash is ordered. 1/16/17 I call Rich. I am disgusted. Why was I told all components were in? 1/17/17 Call from Rich. Window sash has been ordered. I will get a call from service when it is in. 1/20/17 Call from Service. Sash will be in on 2/3/17. Completion date set. 2/8/17 service tech arrives to install sash and replace damaged interior molding. All work completed, but just as tech is leaving the glass in the newly-installed window sash cracks. A new sash will need to be ordered. And so the saga continues. My comment is this: The windows are well-made, energy-efficient, and beautiful. The installers and service technicians are professional, skilled craftsmen and do excellent work. Service administration and scheduling is inefficient and unacceptable. Installation of 3 windows should not take three months! On a positive note, the 10% I held back was waived as compensation for my inconvenience. Not holding my breath for the new sash."

"From the moment we met Paul we were sold. He is one of the nicest guys you could ever work with, and his prices are very fair. Having Paul and his crew here is like having company... Well company that works very hard. They came in and after a quick assessment got to work. They divided and conquered, each person just taking on a task, whether it was removing, prepping, installing, finishing, cleaning, painting...you name it! We are very satisfied in how neat and tidy our windows look, and definitely notice the difference in the upgrade. Our current vinyl windows were 15+ years old, some were cracked, fogged up or they just weren't performing up to par. Now we feel well insulated, we can see out clearly and they look great all around the edges!!"

"Great. Keith was in contact and updated me on the start and they arrived when promised. The crew was terrific and the roof looks great. I was thankful that they took care to replace any rotten wood and install better venting to reduce moisture in the attic. Finally, they left the property cleaner than when they arrived. I was astonished at the care the crew took to clean up before departing. As for pricing, Keith was responsive when I requested an estimate and the price was the more competitive than another vendor."

"I put in a request to replace my mailbox. I was quoted a price of $ 450. Prior to agreeing to pay for the job, I asked the business to give me a breakdown of what I would be paying for the work (I.e. replace the post, pick up materials, disposal of old mailbox, etc.) I did not receive a response after that. I make it a practice not to pay anyone until I see a breakdown of what I’m paying for. While I cannot accuse him of doing so, I did not want a situation in which someone would go out, pick out a mailbox for me, take off the old one, put the new one on the old post and leaving me to deal with the disposal of the old one for $450. Just didn’t work out for me with this contractor."

"We are very happy with the replacement windows that Steven Czerwinski Inc. installed at our house. The Harvey windows are excellent and the carpenters were professional and efficient from start to finish. The office employees were informative and helpful to assist us in choosing the windows. Without question, Steven Czerwinski Inc. is a 5 Star company and highly recommended by us!! Fred and Chrystal"

"Justin did a great job removing the old (really old) microwave and installing the new. The old one was installed in an odd manner and he was able to remove it and got the new installed without any major difficulty. He kept me informed of what he was doing and allowed me to make decisions when needed. Definitely will use him again or recommend him to others. Clean up after the job and left everything orderly."

FAQs for new windows service projects in Ellington, CT

Yes, bay windows add value to a home. They enhance the property by expanding the interior space and flooding rooms with natural light. Their unique three-panel design creates a stunning focal point that elevates curb appeal and modernizes living areas. This architectural detail increases both functional space and visual appeal, directly contributing to higher home resale value.

Yes, all window types have the potential to become part of a bay window configuration when modified correctly. The transformation involves reconfiguring standard windows into a multi-panel design that features a larger central window flanked by smaller ones. This process requires precise professional planning and custom framing to ensure durability, visual balance, and structural integrity.

Bay windows typically consist of three glass panels extending beyond the home's exterior walls, with a larger center panel flanked by two smaller ones. In contrast, bow windows are composed of four to six equally sized glass panels that create a gentle curve and do not extend as far from the exterior walls.

Bay windows cost more than standard windows because their expansive, multi-panel design requires additional materials and skilled labor. Their construction involves extra glass, specialized frame components that extend outward, and complex operating mechanisms. These technical demands necessitate precise engineering and multiple expert installations, thereby significantly increasing both material and labor expenses.

Bay windows cost three times more than standard double-hung windows because their design requires extra panels, expanded framing, and a more complex installation process. The advanced construction method increases material consumption and demands comprehensive expertise, while specialized window treatments further elevate expenses. This all results in a significant difference in overall project cost.
