"Tech did the following: replaced the cables and a roller, and then serviced it. One of the cables was frayed. Also tightened the chain. <br /> The door operates much better than before, however it still jerks a little bit going up and down. The tech said that the opener is nearing the end of life, as it was installed in 1996. I might have entertained just having it replaced if I was home at the time, but I was at work and my wife was home during the repair. I'm not sure how much time I bought for $200, but will definitely plan on replacing it the next time it acts up. <br />"

"It went perfectly. I called and spoke to the office immediately. They came out the next day on a Sunday prepared to give an estimate and complete the job. Everything is done. They performed quality work with quality products, very professional, clean-cut, honest, efficient, fair price. We are very happy and highly recommend them."

"<p>Jim was flexible and able to work our project into a tight turnaround time.  He was exceptionally thorough and included several facets of the project that other installers had either missed or failed to mention in their estimates. With the other estimates, these would have become unexpected costs to us.  Jim's eye for detail and being "up-front" with us helped us to better understand all aspects of our project and budget appropriately.  He finished ahead of schedule and was spot-on budget.  Jim was also excellent about keeping in communication with us and even followed up after the project was complete to make sure we were satisfied. Our flooring looks terrific and we will absolutely use Vance Remodeling and Reconstruction again!</p> <br />"

"The first attempt at getting estimates went very poorly, possibly miscommunication. The second attempt was great. My calls were returned promptly. The owner Michael came out to the site and gave me the estimates (on time which is unheard of in the contracting world!). He had the report finished the next day! He then followed up a few days later to see if i needed anything else. <br />"

"Cornerstone Builders and Developers were initial recommended by Reading Plumbing to do the specialized work in the bathroom.  It was necessary to remove the shelf brace to allow the plumber to get to the underside of the faucet.  The shelf brace was an integral part of the front of the vanity.  So the work had to be done carefully so that when put back it would look like the other shelf braces in the vanity.  They did a good job and even painted it so you can not even tell it had been removed.  <br /> While having that work done, I had them put up some additional kitchen crown moulding which had not been done when the house was built.  It was for a couple of small areas.  The work was complicated by trying to get it to match up completely with the already installed pieces.  The carpenter did a great quality job and spent extra time to make sure it was done right.  He also painted the pieces to assure they match all the rest of the cabinets and moulding. <br />"

"I would not recommend them. Initially, the remodeling was good. When there were issues, however, they would not fix those issues. I had a very hard time getting a hold of them, and eventually, they stopped answering and returning my calls."

FAQs for sunroom or patio enclosure building service projects in Elmwood, IL

A sunroom is a fully enclosed space with walls of windows or glass. It allows you to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of the indoors, protected from bugs and weather. It functions as an additional room in your home. A covered patio extends your home's roof over an outdoor area, providing shade and shelter while remaining open to the fresh air. It's a great way to enjoy outdoor living while being protected from sun and rain.

Adding screens to your porch is the most budget-friendly way to enclose it. Screening keeps out insects and debris while letting you enjoy the breeze and outdoor ambiance. It's less expensive than installing full walls or glass enclosures and doesn't usually require permits, making it an efficient way to upgrade your porch.

If you're transforming your porch into a fully enclosed living space like a sunroom, you'll likely need a sturdy foundation, such as a reinforced concrete slab, to support the structure. For a simple screened-in porch, you might be able to use the existing floor and support posts without additional foundation work. It's best to consult a professional to determine what's needed for your project.

An enclosed porch can be considered a living space if it's fully enclosed with solid walls and windows, has a proper roof, and includes heating and cooling systems. It should also have direct access from inside your home. When these criteria are met, the space becomes an extension of your home's livable area.
