I'm updating my review to reflect my recent experiences with Ware. I'm leaving my initial review mostly intact* as everything that occurred still occurred. However, Michael contacted me recently, about a year after the work was finished, and asked for an opportunity to make things right. Mike and his crew came out promptly and made multiple adjustments to the drainage system and the sod. In fact, Mike re-sodded the entire yard, brought in stone and edging, and installed additional drains. In all, they easily did several thousand dollars of work over two days at Ware's expense. I'm not ready to call this an overwhelming success as it took nearly a year to see how the first system would hold up. But Mike has made a good-faith effort to make things right and done so at great expense to himself. The yard looks great, and time will tell how well it will hold up. I'm hopeful that the system will perform well and that the lawn will thrive. I will update my review further once I've had a chance to evaluate. 


*I say mostly intact because I did make a few revisions based on my conversation with Mike. While we had an number of problems and disagreements over the course of the initial job, Mike had no way of knowing that there were long-term problems. As such, I don't believe it's fair to judge the quality of his work based on the initial installation and my original review has been edited to reflect that.

Given their reviews here, I had high hopes for Ware. And before I provide my review I'd like to say that Ware does a fine job of yard work and low-intensity landscaping. If I had only had them come out to do some landscaping I would likely provide a glowing review as well. Mike is personable and eager. If you want your lawn mowed, leaves raked, mulch installed, or the like I would actually recommend Ware.
 
Unfortunately, during the course of the work Mike's crew cut the lines of and completely disabled our sprinkler system. They also initially failed to carry out many of the tasks I had hired them to complete despite having detailed all of the work in the contract including illustrations. We had numerous disagreements about what was in the scope despite the contract being available to reference and had a number of very unpleasant and unproductive exchanges regarding the sprinkler system and other details.

The drainage system did not initially function as intended, resulting in a very muddy yard and a lot of dead grass. Mike has since come out to address this, so I will reserve judgement as to how well the system works and whether or not the grass can survive.  
However, plantings were uprooted to make way for regrading and never moved back. Several decorative stone retaining walls were dismantled, one of which was reassembled shoddily and the other two not reassembled at all. They destroyed my sprinkler system despite assurances that they were capable of handling the presence of underground lines and then asked me to pay for half of the cost of bringing in an expert to repair the damage that they had done. While I did agree to pay half the cost, they never completed the repairs and left me with a massive leak and a $700 water bill. 

I've lived with the work for nearly a year and waited to ensure a fair review. Cool-down time and to see how the work panned out in terms of function. After posting this initial review, Michael did contact us and has since gone to great lengths to make things right. For that they get quite a few points in my book. Everybody deserves a chance to fix their own work. "

"After the first service they sold out to Trugreen. After the first service the lawn appeared perky and weeds were curling up. After Trugreen took over. They have been late on treatments. We've had to call they haven't communicated. The lawn doesn't appear perky. Weeds don't look like they are fazed. Based on the delayed schedule they are not likely to get in all the treatments we prepaid for. Disappointed."

"Mike was excellent at communicating. He returned all my calls promptly and his crews completed the work quickly. They listened to all my needs and gave suggestions. With each portion of the project completed they cleaned up the yard. So we basely knew they were there. We also got to the estimates and they’re price was the most reasonable."

"They have a Black diamond club that you pay per month. The pay is what you would automatically have for the furnace check and A/C check. They respond faster if you have a problem. They come but there still was a charge maybe a $100. It seems like when we first used them, they were the same as others. They were here within the time they say they will. There was just one person who came out. He was professional and I was not concerned about anything."

"Half of their work is very good. The other half is mediocre. They patched, acid etched and coated our 58 year old concrete porch with polymer modified coatings. Less than 6 months later the coating is worn and chipping off. They acid etched and coated the garage floor and said it would probably crack someday. Someday was 3 weeks. They removed the old wrought iron railings and installed new aluminum railings whose angles and placement do not match. They still have not replaced the small railing gate protecting the basement stairs. They installed Unilock Pavers. The pavers are basically level. They were supposed to repair and reinstall our chain link fence gate. They dug out one post and reset it leaning north. The gate was worse than before they started. We had to pay someone else to fix it so that it stays closed. They removed and replaced the asphalt driveway and did an excellent job but we spent 2 weeks with the driveway dug down to the clay with machinery and debris everywhere. The two river rock sections are very well done. They work, when they please. They say “we’ll be here tomorrow” and finally show up days later with increasingly outrageous explanations. This project is not finished and we are very displeased with the quality of the work and the way that Uptime Builders do business."

"Maria responded to my initial request within a day and came out the following week to assess my lawn which was extremely damaged. She provided a detailed proposal of what she could do and it was priced appropriately for my size and shape lawn. The team came out right on time to provide the services on scheduled date A few weeks later the lawn was mowed and any pieces of sod that did not take, were replaced. While it was a busy time of season, it some times took a few days to receive a response to follow up questions, etc., but Maria still made sure that I was satisfied with the all services. Lawn looks great and I plan to use them again for Fall clean up service,.
