American Home Shield couldn't get anyone to come out before the following week, so we inquired as to which Garage Door Companies would fix it as emergency, since my wife has medical conditions and needs to be able to travel. Of the two Garage Door Companies that are available 24 hours, A1 Garage Door Service LLC was the only one that could be there same evening. They got to our home to fix the broken spring so we could open the Garage around 8:00 pm."

"We called on a Saturday night and they were able to come the following morning on a Sunday without an additional trip charge for the weekend which was great. The operator estimated our total would be between $200-300. When the technician arrived he tried to charge us $299 per spring for a total of $600! We had called another company who gave us their pricing for replacing two springs on a wooden door ($210 total) and told him that we already had them scheduled for Monday and would just use them. At that point the technician told us that he could do it for $300 total. We said that was still high for the work so he then quoted us $250 total. We were just not impressed that they would try to overcharge unknowing customers that hadn't done their research on costs. Additionally, they did not come in a marked truck and we wrote a check to Garage Door Service. When we called the main line we asked the company name because it was not super clear on the website and they said they were Neighborhood Garage Door and also owned Yes! Garage Door and Garage Door Service. We wonder if this service is like the Uber for garage doors where they just find a technician who will do the work and then that technician gets the additional amount they overcharge. Then when we tried to pay with credit card they said that they charge a 3% fee! We ended up paying with a check. The fee for credit card is unheard of in the garage door or various other contractor services we have used. The technician was very nice, but we are not sure what exactly is going on with this company. The way our service was handled was shady and we will not use them again."
