"Don?t be fooled by Chapter?s sleek branding or ?hassle-free? pitch. Our semi-gut reno of a 3-bed, 2.5-bath Brooklyn co-op has dragged on for a year, burning money, time, and sanity. Chapter claimed high-end services, but this was not the reality. There was minimal project management, workmanship was terrible (damaged new items, blamed ?site conditions? when they couldn?t do basic work they?d promised, had to re-do many items because quality was so poor). They missed every deadline and overshot the timeline by months. We were often forced to procure items ourselves because Chapter weren?t engaged or competent enough to do so (they even failed to purchase a one-of-a-kind marble slab we designed our bathroom around. It was sold to someone else and we were forced to redesign last minute). They gaslighted us whenever we raised concerns and pressured us to make payments when work was defective / incomplete. He is timely and he and his team are very professional. This time Kremar worked on the front walkway and stairs in the front of the house. The stairs were too steep and short and the walkway was charming but not practical or functional at any time of the year. Miri and his team created a lovely walkway that keeps the overall charm of the house but is now fully functional year-round and while I don’t look forward to shoveling, I am ready for it this year!
