"Exceeded my expectations. Demolished 80 feet of cinder block retaining wall 5 feet tall and replaced with 8 inch thick poured concrete wall. It looks great! The work was completed on schedule. Provided daily updates. Their customer service was excellent. Highly recommend. "

"Ricardo just finished installing baseboards on my home. Can’t recommend him enough for the quality of work that he performed. It’s refreshing to find a contractor who takes their work seriously. The value for the service was outstanding. He showed up on time every day and stayed late hardly taking a break. He took care to respect and respond to every request. I will be having him return for many more projects since I am getting up in years can’t do what I used to but Ricardo performed as I would have done on my own home."

"Leo was very helpful and quick to respond. We’re happy with how our 2 bathrooms turned out. Project was completed within the time promised. Our only complaint is that the workers did not clean up very well. But overall, we’re satisfied and we’ll use them again. "

"Great work and very reasonably priced. Marco and his workers replaced all of the shingles on a historic house with difficult angles and slopes with no problem and even noticed and resolved issues I would have never noticed. I will use these guys in the future on my own properties and highly recommend them to everyone."

"Brett at Batco Carpentry was great. Our homeowners insurance said we had to get a railing added to our front steps. We weren’t happy about this and were not eager to do it, but we ended up really liking how the work Brett did looks. We liked it so much that we ended up hiring him to do another small carpentry job in our yard. He was responsive, professional, and did a great job. "

Small jobs welcome

"Paragon (Jacob) did a great job on my project of cabinet repair. It’s as good as new now. He was right on time, worked efficiently, and was very respectful. He even texted me ahead of time letting me know he was on his way with an estimated time of arrival. He even gladly did a couple of extra small things for me that I hadn’t asked him about beforehand. He’s a veteran and I love supporting veterans. "

FAQs for carpentry framing installation projects in Escondido, CA

Both steel and wood can last over 100 years with proper care. However, wood could rot or warp when exposed to moisture, whereas galvanized steel is rotproof, insect-proof, and much more fire-resistant. Steel is friendlier to the environment as it doesn’t require cutting down trees, and the frame can be recycled. The energy-efficiency rating of metal stud framing can be higher than conventional wood construction. Metal studs are easier and quicker to install.

Whether you’re using wood or metal stud framing, follow the “16 on center” rule, meaning you should have a stud every 16 inches. A 20-foot wall spans a total of 320 inches. This works out to 20 spans of 16 inches, plus one starting stud, for a total requirement of 21 studs to frame a 20-foot wall.

Drywall installation costs $1.15 to $2 per square foot on metal stud framing or $2,300 for an average 2,000-square-foot house. The total cost for metal framing and drywall ranges from $20 to $30 per linear foot. Metal frames often seem light, but they can be exceptionally strong once drywall or sheathing is attached.
