"Done Right Today texted me just minutes after I searched on Angie's List with my emergency request, which was after 10pm. It was such a relief to know my repair could be done the next day. Ryan called the following morning, and he and Nick were at my door within an hour. They are very professional and knowledgeable, and gave me two options for replacement of my sump pump and check valve. They had all the necessary equipment in their truck and took less than an hour to have the replacement installed and everything running perfectly. Would definitely recommend, and hire again!! Thank you, Annie's List, for a perfect match!"

"They are excellent. I will always use them. I'm very satisfied with their work. They are clean; they are neat, and they're professional. They make me part of the solution too. I'm an engineer and I like to know what is going on. They don't mind me asking them questions. At least they don't seem to when I ask them what they're doing and why they are doing it. They respond very nicely and they seem very comfortable about it. The prices seem high. They are probably very competitive. I don't know I use them. I'm satisfied with the work and I don't mind paying the price. When I see them soldering plumbing I have an idea of what that should look like when it is done. You can put a picture frame around their plumbing. It's so great. They do a nice job. They are not sloppy with dripping solder around or clumps of solder on it. The responsiveness has always been good. They are responsive, but they try to work with me in the time frame. Depending on my schedule, and their schedule they try to accommodate my time frames. The punctuality when they are early they are on time and when they are on time they are late. They always come about 5- 10 minutes early so they're always on time. They are very professional. When I call up the office to the people who get here. They always call the day before and then they call like an hour before to tell me they're on their way. They are good about that. Everyone I've spoken to seems to be knowledgeable in their field. Everyone seems to have good experience and if they get a challenge they seem to know who to call to get answers. It flows very smoothly. It is a good company."

"Jennifer was pleasant and flexible with scheduling my appointment. She told me exactly what I should expect as far as cost and future communications. I loved the text message with the pic and profile of the technician. Great idea! Steve was wonderful! He took the time to explain what needed to be done and the cost before he did any work. He was extremely knowledgeable and professional and answered all my questions. I was so confident in his abilities. that I asked him to replace a pressure regulator that I had on my to do list. Again, he took the time to explain why it needed to be replaced and the pressure difference after it was installed. Overall, I was very impressed with Steve and Valdel Plumbing. I would highly recommend them, and will call them for any future repairs. Thank you! Your efforts are much appreciated!"

"I looked requested quotes from several plumbers to have our water heater replaced with a new tankless water heater. One of the companies just gave a quote for a after having me take photos of the existing water heater, and the quote was for simply a replacement, not what I wanted. Another company came out after several days and said it would be awhile before they could do it because they were so busy. This was two weeks ago. Still no quote. Jon from Delaware Plumbing Professionals was out the morning after the day we called and after looking at what we had, gave us a quote right then. We waited a bit for the other quotes, and decided to go with Delaware Plumbing Professionals. Jon and his apprentice, Nick, were here as scheduled and got the job done. The installation took quite a while, but is very nicely done. They covered the floor and were careful to not make a mess. Now I have lots of hot water. Once the installation was done, Jon showed me where all the shutoff valves and controls for the water heater were. I'm very happy with the job they did. I've used this company before for a faucet replacement on an Angie's List deal and was happy with it as well. It was one reason why I decided to go with them again. I really like that just before they arrive, you get both an email and a text message telling you they are on the way, and both include a photo of the person coming, so you know who to expect and are comfortable letting them in the door. It's just an added safety measure that adds to my satisfaction."

"While the plumber himself is professional, informative and knowledgeable, I had to leave several voice messages, send email, and ultimately contact him through the Angie's List messages to get a response when some items needed a return visit. <br /> I purchased a deal from Angie's List, but never received any breakdown of the costs of actual repairs, so I am left to assume that what they did exactly covered the cost I had pre-paid.  <br /> I purchased parts & materials (faucets, sprayers, handles, etc) myself ahead of time since it is often problematic when working in an older (19th century) house. <br /> An assistant replaced the kitchen faucet & sprayer, but I had to have them return to take care of one handle which came loose within the first few days of use.  The pop up in the downstairs bathroom sink that was replaced no longer works. I didn't realize until after they left that the faucet and handles I'd selected that were put on the upstairs bathroom sink render the pop up useless, so the drain is always open. The trap in the kitchen is fine, as is the basement shut off valve. I had also previously had them replace the outside faucet at the barn/garage and that worked well throughout the summer (another Angie's List deal.)  <br /> I was upset that, while installing the upstairs sink faucet and handles, that they didn't notice that the shut off valve was not completely turned off. Hence, when I went downstairs, I found water pouring out of the ceiling in the kitchen. I quickly told them & they shut it properly. Perhaps I am expecting too much, but I would have thought that they would take some responsibility since it was their error  that left 4 saturated ceiling tiles sagging and dripping onto the kitchen floor and island. Instead I was told to simply let them dry. I ended up spraying bleach above them, & propping them up with clothes poles for a full week as they slowly dried. They are still obviously lower than the surrounding tiles. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"After buying a new refrigerator, Home Depot told me I needed a plumber to run a new water line to the refrigerator. I was not happy with the Home Depot tech that called me. The plumber, Dave, arrived soon after I called Harris and did a phenomenal job! He was friendly, professional and worked quickly. Thank you, Dave, and Harris Plumbing!!"

FAQs for water main install, replace or repair projects in Exton, PA

If you notice puddles or standing water in your yard, a sudden drop in water pressure, cracks forming in your foundation, frequent clogs in your plumbing fixtures, or water that looks or smells unusual, you might have a leak in your main water line. These signs mean it's time to call a professional to evaluate the issue and prevent further damage.

A professional water main inspection is a comprehensive evaluation performed by a licensed plumber who checks every section of your plumbing system. The inspection costs $165 and uses advanced diagnostic techniques to identify hidden leaks or wear. This service clarifies the exact condition of your water main, enabling precise repairs that prevent future damage and ensure the overall health of your plumbing system.

Protect your water main by scheduling a cleaning and inspection every two to five years. The average cost of a sewer line cleaning is $400. It’s also important to never dig in your yard without first calling the dig line (811) to ensure you don't accidentally hit the water or sewer lines. Watch for soil erosion, low water pressure, or wet spots in your yard, and take immediate action if you suspect a leak. Remember, the longer you leave it, the worse the problem gets and the more costly it is to fix.

When properly maintained, your water main is engineered to remain functional for 50 years or longer. A durable water service in excellent condition should consistently perform without major issues for half a century. In contrast, metal pipes exposed to acidic soil corrode faster, whereas modern plastic pipes resist corrosion and function for decades beyond metal alternatives. Regular maintenance and inspections are essential for confirming your system’s longevity.

No, homeowners insurance does not cover the cost to repair a water main. Insurers fund only sudden, unforeseen events like a burst pipe and exclude gradual issues or normal wear and tear. Damage resulting from leaks, such as mold remediation or property claims, is not covered. It is essential to contact your insurance provider immediately to confirm your policy’s details and any potential adjustments needed.
