"I brought the shades to the store for repair. The clutch was $30, the 4 cllips were $10, and the cleaning of the shades was $30. The shades work great and the new clips are far superior to the old ones. The shades were sent out for cleaning and not done by blind installation and repair. It took about 3 weeks to get the shade back, but this long turnover was due to the cleaning not the repair. Very satisified. The cleaning was decent, not perfect, but I was warned of that ahead of time. Very friendly and knowledgeable."

"Jim provided excellent recommendations on what windows to use. <br /> We had them pre-stain the new frames. <br />  The installation team did the majority of the work over two days. The screen for the sliding glass door took a few extra days as the part was not shipped. <br /> Team cleaned up nicely after themselves, took care of all of the haul-away, recaulked the new windows, etc. <br />"

"This is the third time Ive had them come out. First time was 8 years ago to replace rotting wood bedroom windows. The second time was 2 yrs ago in 2017 to do custom kitchen windows. This time was in winter of 2019 - 1 bedroom, 1 living room and one large livingroom window. Our house ws new in 1992, but the windows were awful. Mold, rot and glass falling out. So we went with the best-Anderson. Those windows have held up well, so I have replaced most windows now. The salesman Tim is very helpful. The installers are professional and quick and clean up afterwards. Last time it was winter and I hid in bedroom watchng tv with the dogs. The room stayed warm and they were done in no time. It is a crew of 4 so its done fast. They are polite and hardworking. I do not understand the bad reviews at all. After I experience with windows I only wanted the best."

"They were very good. I really wanted to have my windows done before the snow came. They were very responsive in coming out and getting us scheduled. They couldn?t do the upstairs but they were able to get our main floor done. They were very thorough and they sent a team of three people out that worked for about four hours. The windows looked very nice and I don?t think they have ever looked that clean, even when they were new. They are coming back tomorrow to clean our upstairs windows and to clean our chandelier."

"The window washing went well. The crew was quick, clean and the windows were excellently cleaned. The screen replacement did not go well which prompted the company to send someone to repair the screen which was not installed correctly."

"Once again, Craftsmen did a wonderful job installing more windows in our home. This time it was basement windows. They were dealing with some crooked walls, since the house has settled a bit since it was built. And it looks great. The wrong screens were sent by Pella, but they they quickly replaced those, and didn't bill for the job until the new ones were installed. Truly a classy company to work with."

FAQs for new windows service projects in Farmington, MN

Yes, bay windows add value to a home. They enhance the property by expanding the interior space and flooding rooms with natural light. Their unique three-panel design creates a stunning focal point that elevates curb appeal and modernizes living areas. This architectural detail increases both functional space and visual appeal, directly contributing to higher home resale value.

Yes, all window types have the potential to become part of a bay window configuration when modified correctly. The transformation involves reconfiguring standard windows into a multi-panel design that features a larger central window flanked by smaller ones. This process requires precise professional planning and custom framing to ensure durability, visual balance, and structural integrity.

Bay windows typically consist of three glass panels extending beyond the home's exterior walls, with a larger center panel flanked by two smaller ones. In contrast, bow windows are composed of four to six equally sized glass panels that create a gentle curve and do not extend as far from the exterior walls.

Bay windows cost more than standard windows because their expansive, multi-panel design requires additional materials and skilled labor. Their construction involves extra glass, specialized frame components that extend outward, and complex operating mechanisms. These technical demands necessitate precise engineering and multiple expert installations, thereby significantly increasing both material and labor expenses.

Bay windows cost three times more than standard double-hung windows because their design requires extra panels, expanded framing, and a more complex installation process. The advanced construction method increases material consumption and demands comprehensive expertise, while specialized window treatments further elevate expenses. This all results in a significant difference in overall project cost.
