"Don Foxwolff did an outstanding job filling in our backyard sinkhole. He was very patient waiting for the weather to be just right so our yard did not get damaged. He communicated very thoroughly throughout the project. I would highly recommend using Foxwolff land services for any of your excavating needs."

"The demolition and installation crew was on-time and worked as a team to accomplish a significant amount of work in one day. In spite of leaves continually blowing onto the unfinished slab, the crew worked diligently to ensure a perfect finish. The clean-up crew did a great job stripping forms and removing debris. They even washed the existing driveway that got really muddy the day before. Very pleased and would highly recommend."

"This was the second time this year that we had work done by Peter Frazier. Earlier this year, he repaired a brick walkway which was missing much of the mortar. They did an excellent job repairing the walkway and matching the old mortar. In early fall we had some masonry repair and an old cracked concrete slab removed and had Peter pour a new concrete slab. Again, Peter and his team did an excellent job at a reasonable price. <br />"

"After searching for awhile for someone to repair the steps/railing leading into our house, PK Masonry was the only company that was willing to do the small job in a timely manner. When we met at my house to check out the job, we were given several options at a range of price points. Once a solution was decided, we were told the steps that would need to be taken for the most successful outcome. It was one of the easiest and stress free home repairs we have done in quit some time. Highly recommend."

"The process was easy. I love that Phillip wasn't pushy even when I was undecided on whether or not I wanted to go with AA Marble. I'm SOOO happy I did go with them. It was a pleasant experience. Very good quality of Granite and the installers were on time and professional! Great Job! Thank you so much!"

"Shane and his crew did an amazing job correcting my leaking basement. When he quoted the job he gave me options and provided information for me to make an informed decision. He and his crew completed the work quickly with little disruption. Then he cleaned up and left our property in great condition."

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in Fayetteville, GA

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
