"I have had a service contract with McCrea Heating and Cooling since I purchased my condo unit new 7 1/2 years ago which included 2 maintenance visits a year. My current contract expired yesterday so I called to renew my service contract and upgrade from "Bronze" to "Silver." The representative took my charge card information over the phone. I asked if the contract was in effect as of today. They said "yes." Then I tried to schedule a service call (my unit was serviced a little over a month ago and now the condo wasn't cooling.) I was told then that the Silver Contract would NOT be in effect after all. The difference in price between Bronze and Silver is the cost of a diagnostic visit so they were getting the money one way or another. My long time history with the company did not persuade them to honor the contract I had just paid for. They wanted to charge me $98 to have my problem diagnosed under the Bronze contract that I pointed out was already expired. I was told the representative "misspoke" and should have told me they would have to send out someone to determine whether the furnace they have been maintaining for the past 7 years (with the most recent service call just a month ago) would "qualify" for the Silver plan. So, I cancelled the order for the Silver Plan. I called another company who came out for $30 and determined the problem was a clogged condensation drain. This drain was supposed to have been "blown out" when the regular maintenance was done by McCrea just a month ago, but obviously was not. The water was backed up in the drain pipe and filled the pan under the furnace/AC unit which turned off the AC. Now that everything is working again, I am seeking a different maintenance service plan provider. McCrea has competitive service contract prices, but if they have no customer loyalty, and the maintenance work is not done properly, maybe it's a question of "you get what you pay for.""

"They fixed my heat pump by getting the motor fan operational. Previosly Cinch Home Warranty had another company do a repair that failed when the fan became detached. The warranty company said it was part of an “exterior part” and wouldn’t repair or replace the unit. I was searching for Hvac companies to replace the unit and Shore2Shore said “let’s see what we can do.” Voila they reengineered the fan install and it is humming happily along. This has saved us $$$$$$’s!"

Blair arrived this morning abd diagnosed the issue and replaced the condensation pump. These new "smart" systems have more brains than some humans!! When the pump failed, it shut down the entire system. However, Blair had the old school know-how and work ethic to get my system back online and back to normal. "Mr. Ferrell first connected his computer to my computer via internet and worked for quite a few hours trying to determine what exactly was wrong. The next day he continued working from his computer for several hours. He determined he would have to have my desktop tower to complete the repair. He and my son met in Huntsville to exchange the tower. He then cleaned up a lot of what was wrong and reloaded Windows 10. He deleted the D: drive which had way too much memory allotted to it. The tower was returned and I plugged it all back together and it is working better than it did when I first purchased it. I would use him again and I recommend him highly to anyone needing computer updating and/or repair. His work is warrantied and he is very personable, knowledgeable, and helpful."
