"Infinite stars is my rating for Dayhoff Remodeling. Chuck Dayhoff is an extraordinary craftsman and, more important, he is an exceptional human being. In 2022, my husband, who already battled Parkinson’s, took a serious fall and was hospitalized for the next 10 months. It became very clear that I would not be able to care for him in our home - I needed a more appropriate housing situation. Securing a one-level house was the easy part. Remodeling that house into a completely fitted ADA space was the challenge. In January, 2023, I initiated my search-for-a-contractor. I explored websites and read reviews specifically on Angi. Each review posted about Dayhoff Remodeling was positive - even glowing. I called. From our first meeting, I was impressed by Chuck. He LISTENED to my concerns, hopes, needs, questions, and ideas before he inserted his thoughts. He respected what I had to say and never once discounted my opinions. Instead, Chuck took my visions and moved them to a higher level. I felt as if I were working with Chuck and believed that he truly wanted to manifest what I hoped to have in my new home. When I got stuck with paint, tile, flooring options, Chuck would say, “A comfortable choice (in flooring or tile or paint) might be ___.” I followed most of his leads - and found the outcome “comfortable” indeed. Chuck consistently went above and beyond. Designing the specifics and constructing the ADA bathroom was critical to the ultimate success of the entire remodeling project. Chuck worked directly with my husband on every detail of the bathroom. Chuck made multiple scale drawings showing different placements for the sink, shower, toilet. Chuck took each drawing to the rehab center and showed each to my husband. The two even role-played fixture placement using the bathroom layout at the rehab center. Drawing on his years of experience, Chuck added sensible, practical, and, when executed, beautiful details to every aspect of the project - crafting new drawers in the kitchen and bathroom; also crafting pull-out shelves for the kitchen cabinets; designing and building a sturdy staging platform for the lift installed in the garage; noting that folding closet doors would be preferable to sliding doors; extending the kitchen counter for a usable bar-seating area. Attention to detail influenced each of his work decisions. Chuck is smart, artistic, and skilled - his work is exceptional, and so is he! I trusted him completely. He possesses the highest degree of integrity - it was a high privilege to work with him. At project’s end, Chuck had created a safe and beautiful space for my husband and me. I am truly grateful."

"Foundation repairs made to a duplex, by another contractor, resulted in some expected damage to the support structure of two wooden decks.  Bill's Home Repair replaced six wooden support columns and four rotted rim joists. Three workers, supervised by Bill, completed the work in three days.  The work was competently done, on time and at a reasonable price. I'll use them again/ <br />"

"Joe came out to do a bid on pressure washing, staining and painting our home outside of Woodland Park. He gave us an honest and fair bid using Messmer’s Exterior oil based stain. David and his crew came up 2 weeks later and did an amazing job of pressure washing the house and repairing holes/cracks on siding & trim boards. A few days later they were back masking the windows and started staining. Total of 3 days to do staining and painting trim and garage door. They cleaned up all masking materials and our home looks amazing!"

"Another excellent experience with Gary Dutch and his crew from Dutch’s Home Improvement. I’ve used him for several door and window replacement projects at both my home and my mother’s, and I have always been highly satisfied. This time was no exception. This project consisted of replacing the old, not-very-attractive front door at my mother’s house with a new energy-efficient door with a color matching the house trim and custom stained-glass inserts, plus a matching storm door. Due to this extensive customization, the price was not cheap, but the door is stunning and my mother is absolutely thrilled with the result, so it’s money well-spent. What I valued most with Gary was the extensive time he took researching and explaining to us all the options available, and walking us through the selection process. We would never have known how to fill out all the details about size and fit on the order form, but Gary did, and when the door was delivered, it was exactly what we had imagined and fit perfectly. The delivery did take two months, but that was expected due to its being a custom order. Gary is a true professional, taking the time to learn his customers’ exact wishes and expectations and then guiding them through the process to ensure a satisfying result. (On one past occasion, he even shouldered the cost of an error in the ordering process, although the error was made by the manufacturer, not by him or me.) He is a joy to work with, and I heartily endorse him."

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Florissant, CO

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
