"Two jobs so far from Hashtag: A beautiful cedar fence and also a new garage entry door and rebuild of the steps leading to the garage. Really like the detailed estimate and the excellent communication throughout the process. The quality and craftsmanship is top tier."

"While the work is not completed yet, I had such a positive experience so far, that I wanted to comment. I needed a bids for repairs on my leaking roof. While other companies were scheduling appointments weeks out, Debella could accommodate me the next day. Tanner Rossetto, (Eugene, OR office) came to do the bid for my roof. He was friendly, professional and very thorough. I was impressed! Debella was the ONLY company that actually climbed up to the roof and went in my attic space. He took pictures to show me the issues and repairs that needed to be done. I NEVER make hasty decisions and usually require time to commit to any major event. (I took me three years to decide to marry my husband! LOL) Tanner was able to answer every question I had, and reassured me about every concern. I choose Debella because of Tanner. If this is the quality and professionalism for this first step of the project... I can't wait for the rest!"

"The short answer, it went perfectly.  I've had Charles perform work for me a few years ago, where he repaired a shower floor (different bathroom) that was improperly done (he didn't install it, he was making it right).  His knowledge of his craft is obvious, and his attention to detail, and pride in his work is equally obvious.

For the bathroom remodel, he and his crew tore everything out.  All the tile, the old vanity, the old tub, everything.  The full demolition was done in a single day, very impressed.  Throughout this, he and his crew were mindful of a potential mess, and used their own throws and mats, along with HEPA filters running constantly in the room to contain the demo.  The rest of my house really didn't see any effects from the demolition.

Everything after that was prepped (cement-board, building up the shower half-wall, etc.) by his crew, who are awesome guys.  All of them were very professional, very nice, got along with my dog and cats, which is a big deal for me.  Once it was all good to go, I went out of town for a week, and they continued working while I was gone.  The shower floor had been poured, and the tile-work was nearly complete when I came home.  Just a few more working days and the bathroom was completed.

I had an idea in my head of what it would look like, and how it turned out far exceeded my expectations.  It is stunning.  A few friends have been to the house and are shocked when they see it.  I'm very glad I waited to have the cash ready to have Charles do this work.

I *highly* recommend him.  I've already started planning my next project, which is a fairly involved remodel of my kitchen.  I will be hiring Charles for that work, no questions asked."

"I needed several small repairs done to the exterior of my house prior to having it painted, which Walt and his wife did beautifully. They also replaced the deck on my shed, and did a wonderful job on that as well. They were quick to respond to my initial request for a bid, accomplished the work within my time frame, did quality work, and cleaned up thoroughly when they were done. They were also quiet and courteous while doing the work.

I have some interior jobs that will need to be done in the near future, and you can be sure I will call Walt for his assistance when the time comes."

"We hired Fine Finish (Mark) to design and build a 2-car attached garage with partially finished space overhead, including a small finished office.
It's hard to list all the ways Mark and Travis went above and beyond during our garage addition project. First, they worked through some of the worst weather an Oregon winter has to offer. While most of Portland was crippled due to flooding, Mark and Travis were hauling shingles up a 2-story ladder and installing our roof. When they were planning the gutter installation, they noticed that our existing gutters were still full of oak leaves. So they cleaned the gutters. They were especially patient with our 18 month-old son, who affectionately referred to them as the ?guys? and took a keen interest in everything they did.
Mark anticipated future design aspects that we hadn?t thought of like leaving space and wiring in the garage for a central HVAC
system. He asked insightful questions about future plans to make sure our money was spent wisely, now and in the future. Even during the design phase, Mark was very transparent about different cost-saving options and associated tradeoffs.
We expected that once the work started, we would mostly be dealing with subcontractors. To our surprise, only the foundation work, gutters, and garage door installation were sub-contracted. Mark and Travis did all of the framing and finish work themselves. As a result, the quality of our addition is noticeably superior to that of our original home.
If you want someone to hire an army of people to throw your project together as quickly as possible, look elsewhere. If you want the attention to detail of a craftsman and an honest, no-nonsense interaction with someone who takes pride in his work and has your best interests at heart, talk to Mark. We?re glad we did and we?ll definitely be back in the future.

"For both houses, Ken has someone came to power wash the house.  The power wash guy did an OK job and miss some areas that I need to clean it myself.
Rental: Ken's crew came early in the morning and got to work quickly.  They caulked and painted the house in one day.  They also  scrape loose/peel paint then prime those bare wood.  They applied two coating of paint and the paint look nice and thick.  Overall a nice paint job and they cleanup well.
Primary: same comment as the rental + I got some tree branches that is touching the house siding/gutters.  I cut/trim what I can, but a few branches was way up high, Ken's crew was kind enough to cut those for me.  My two kids (7 & 10 yrs old) were so excited and were outside most of the time watching them work.  They ask Ken's crew (Scott) many questions and Scott was nice enough to explain things to them.  Nice and kind people to work with.

"Dave painted our house 2 years ago and did an excellent job, so when we needed additional things done we called him and he did excellent work again. The siding work involved removing an outdoor faucet and fitting it around phone and electrical boxes. He replaced deck boards, cleaned and prepped everything, and used an "armor coat" paint that should last a long time. He cleaned and stained the fence in the front and side of the house. He is easy to work with and takes great pride in his work. Cost included all materials and was a great value. I would use him again."

FAQs for shed, barn or playhouse repair projects in Forest Grove, OR

You’ll know it’s time for a new shed roof if shingles curl or buckle, soft spots sag, or water stains appear inside. Moss or other plant growth on the surface is another red flag that moisture has breached the roofing layers. Replacing the roof quickly stops leaks from spreading, protects stored items, and saves you from costlier structural repairs down the road.

Choosing between a flat and a sloped shed roof comes down to climate, budget, and upkeep. A flat roof is cheaper up front, but still needs a slight pitch for drainage. A sloped roof sheds rain and snow more easily, lasts longer, and often needs less maintenance. Weigh your local weather patterns, the look you want, and how much time you’re willing to spend on upkeep before deciding.

A shed roof’s life span hinges on the material you choose and how well you maintain it. Most standard products last 15 to 30 years, while premium picks like slate or clay tile can protect the structure for 50 to 100 years. Regular inspections, fast fixes, and routine cleaning all help you reach the upper end of those ranges and keep your tools and gear dry year-round.
