"I switched to Burge a couple of years ago bc I wanted a more personal relationship. I got it. They turn my sprinkler system on in the spring and off in the fall. They have always been nice to deal with and this summer they installed the Hydrawise control system which I can control with my phone. I love it! It's so easy. I struggled with the other controller. This should save me money bc it responds to the weather. And most recently I had some landscaping done and wouldn't you know, failed to tell the people to watch out for some water lines. Of course, they sliced right through one. Martin came out in a couple days (I easily suspended that zone via Hydrawise) and fixed it so quickly. Highly recommend this group."

"I was very pleased with King Cut's responsiveness to my quote request, their follow-up to spec the job, and the execution of the task. I asked for two levels of quote: simple repair of existing flagstone and a more ambitious paying stone rebuild of front walk. Two detailed quotes were prepared and transmitted to me for evaluation; I was very impressed with the detail. For budget reasons, I opted for the less expensive flagstone repair. My front walkway's flagstone arrangement had degraded over years and the polymeric sand had essentially disappeared prompting weed growth in cracks and other unsightly developments. ,King Cut's staff arrived early on the day of the job and finished the job in one day as estimated (which included laying gravel rock down around portions of house for erosion control purposes). The job involved re-bed of the flagstone on gravel then application of polymeric sand in the joints, The overall cost was as quoted. The job was completed on time and within budget with utmost professionalism. Very pleasant experience!"

"They did an excellent job and it was done on time and for the negotiated price. Some time later, one of the stones started to disintegrate. We called Russell and made arrangements for the repairs. They repaired the faulty stone as well as touched up several other small defects we weren't even concerned about. I would highly recommend them for any outdoor task."

"This went very well! I discovered the leaking valve on Christmas Eve, and contacted Chesapeake Plumbing on 12/27. They had a plumber at my house 12/28. He diagnosed the problem, and compared the types of the replacement valves he had available as well as their relative merits. He did a great job of explaining those, and allowing me to make an expedient and quality choice. He then replaced the plumbing. He appropriately indicated that since my sprinkler system was already evacuated for the winter it would likely be imprudent to try running water out to it in late December. He suggested that I test that portion of things when testing the system before use, and told me to call them if any problems manifested at that time. (They did not.) The work was completed within an hour. I was very impressed by the plumber's courtesy, professionalism, and punctuality."

FAQs for lawn and garden sprinkler system installation projects in Fort-george-g-meade, MD

While drip irrigation systems have higher upfront costs, they can save you money in the long run. By delivering water directly into the soil with minimal evaporation and runoff, drip irrigation systems conserve water and improve efficiency. This means better performance and results for your landscaping, and cost savings over the system's lifespan.

Yes, irrigation systems can add value to your home, especially when installed with high-quality materials and a solid design. A well-irrigated landscape enhances curb appeal and can attract potential buyers. However, poor design or installation may reduce performance and even decrease your property's value. Hiring an expert for installation and performing regular maintenance is key to securing the long-term benefits.

A local irrigation professional can help you check your drip irrigation system to make sure it's in good shape. You'll want to make sure the water pressure is in a good range, repair any leaks as soon as possible, and cover the cost to winterize your sprinkler system as recommended by your irrigation contractor.

A drip irrigation system lasts between 10 and 15 years. This lifespan is determined by the quality of materials, the precision of installation, and regular professional maintenance. Unlike traditional sprinkler systems that can last up to 50 years, the thinner piping used in drip systems is more sensitive to UV exposure and environmental wear. Proper upkeep and timely repairs enhance durability and ensure consistent irrigation performance.

Drip irrigation is best suited for plant beds, containers, greenhouses, and row crops. It supplies water directly to individual plants, ensuring precise moisture control where it is needed most. For areas with simple layouts, above-ground systems work efficiently, while subsurface installations may be cost-prohibitive in spaces with extensive tree roots or irregular terrain. Proper planning maximizes the benefits of drip irrigation across a variety of applications.
