"WKD Plumbing is outstanding! I had a gas range installed in an older home that required new gas lines to the kitchen. Kevin preformed a pre- installation inspection and followed up the next day with a flawless installation. I recommend this company without reservation. If you gave more than five stars I would give them. Tom Hodge"

"It worked out just fine. They brought the wrong furnace the first time but I happened to catch it before they got it out of the box. That may have been just a communication breakdown because the one that we wanted was an Energy Star and I just assumed they all were. When I saw the box, I asked where the Energy Star was on the box so I could deduct it from our taxes. We said that's not what we had and they brought us the one we wanted. We had a gas leak a couple of years later on the furnace and we called them. They came out and there was no charge. They came right away."

"My 15 year old water heater was leaking water in the basement. I called them and asked that they install a new water heater.  They were friendly and professional.  They said they would call me back with a price and time they would be there.  I requested they call me on my cell phone and gave them the number.  They called my home number and left an message on the answering machine.  Fortunately my husband was home.  They gave a price up front.  The first water heater was too big, so they had to go back and get another one.  They installed the new water heater and then later on that night , it began to leak around some tubing.  I called their emergency number and they came right out and fixed it.   Everything has been great since.  Would recommend them to anyone."

Jones Heating, Air Conditioning, Plumbing & Electrical’s owner, Tommy Jones, started Jones Home Comfort in 1973 with just one employee, himself. He began doing air conditioning and refrigeration work after graduating from Shelton State Community College. In 1976, we added the Heavy Equipment division, working on the air conditioning systems of drag lines, dozers, loaders and any other mobile equipment. Then, in 1986, we began doing duct work with a full-service duct shop able to handle most duct project. Finally, in 1996, the electrical department was added. In 2000, we changed our name from Jones Home Comfort, Inc. to Jones Heating, Air Conditioning and Plumbing, Inc. to better describe all we do. Tommy Jones and the Jones’ employees believe in treating people fairly and taking care of his customers. That’s as true today as it was over 40 years ago. We stand behind our people and our work.

"We had them out for a couple of issues. Replaced hardware in the bathroom. Had to manufacture a sleeve for the shower head because of the way the bathroom had been plumbed. Had to change the faucet stems as they were stripped out. Toilet was wobbly and needed to be re-seated, however the problem was that the bathroom floor had been tiled with ceramic tile and a big enough space wasn't left for spacers. They had to chip out the tile to make the opening big enough to add the spacers. <br /> Fixed a leak in the upstairs bathroom, and tracked down a leak in the downstairs bath and fixed them. <br /> A couple of house calls were made to complete all the work listed above. <br /> They are prompt and courteous. On a previous job they went out of their way to finish a project a previous plumber said couldn't be done. Would recommend them for your plumbing needs. <br />"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Fosters, AL

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
