"Peter was in contact with me at all times and he really handled every part of the project carefully. I was very happy with the process and the outcome. I told him about the short time frame I had so he was able to get everything done on his tight schedule. The work was done quickly. I had about 14 new windows installed and delead the door trims and parts of baseboards. Everything was left nice and clean after all the work was done. I would definitely recommend them! <br /> <br />"

"This company is OUTSTANDING! We had damage to the windows in the house we just bought and contacted Jeff to come out and do and estimate. His team responded immeadiately and came out the following day. Paul could not have been nicer, more professional or helpful. He look at the damaged window and was able to ascertain who installed them through a code on the window. Note, none of the other window companies pointed this out. He said that the windows are probably under warranty but if we could not get ahold of the installer we should just replace the glass through a glass company as the windows have another 5 years of shelf life. He said we did not need 16 new windows. I had 3 other quotes and all of them said we needed new windows. It is nice in this day and age to find a company that does the right thing and put integrity and good buisiness before a sale. I would never go to anyone else in the future and recommend them to every one I know."

"After dealing with one other windows company delivering an aggressive sales push apparently characteristic for this industry, it was a pleasure to interact with Matt Rotondi, the owner. He provided all the information necessary, in addition the helpful online information, before making the sale, and there was no pressure for the more expensive models. He continued to be highly responsive and courteous even after we signed on the dotted line. The installation of 26 windows was done by a contracted team on the days it was scheduled to be done, and everything went well. The windows look very nice and provide the improved insulation we were hoping for. Obviously only time will tell how they hold up in the future, but I have full confidence that Matt will honor the warranty that should cover any potential issues. After the installation, one of the windows was hard to open and another one had a very small dent, probably from the delivery, but he fixed both issues without discussion. I recommend Zen Windows without any hesitation."

"I contacted New Generation <br /> after reading the very positive reviews. Jack called me back shortly thereafter. <br /> He asked a bunch of questions having me describe the window types we had. He <br /> was then able to quote the cost per window. The price was very <br /> reasonable. He worked with me with setting up a day to come out to do the work. <br /> He called a couple of days before to confirm. Jack?s son and another man <br /> showed up promptly the morning of the job. They did a wonderful <br /> job. Our windows now sparkle. We will definitely use then again and will <br /> recommend them. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"An attic window in our old house was no longer functioning, and, as an original window, appeared to need replacement. We received a number of very expensive estimates for replacement, but Bruce took a look and said, " I can fix that".....and he did.....beautifully. The price was excellent and we are so glad to have been able to restore an original window. We hope to hire Bruce again for miscellaneous jobs around our house and yard."

"Viola was great with getting permits (Somerville ISD is tricky sometimes), and scheduled the work for a month afterward. They came over three days, build the dormer window perfectly, re-routed and improved our gutters, and replaced the roof and a ton of rotted wood beneath it. They came back to do interior plastering, and again for one extra day (time and materials) to fix rotten wood on the outside of two existing windows. They were professional, communicative, and very helpful with cost containment and preservation of our old home. Very positive experience."

"Preface to this review - I am a MA licensed Construction Supervisor, and I am a Project Superintendent for large commercial projects for a Boston-area general contractor, so I speak from considerable experience with roofing contractors. In mid January 2020, I signed a deal for a solar power system, contingent upon replacement of my old roof. The solar company recommended Greater Boston Roofing, a company they had frequently worked with. I agreed, and they completed the job on January 29th. The company did a fantastic job. The crew was courteous, professional, and efficient. They treated my property with care, and performed the entire job in one day; almost exactly eight hours. The comprehensive project included the following: 1. Stripping all existing roofing 2. Removing two roof-mounted bathroom exhaust vents, re-routing the associated flex duct to soffit vents (to make that space available for a solar panel), and eliminating the holes by replacing that sheet of plywood - not just little patches 3. New ice & water shield 4. New air, vapor, and water barrier 5. New drip edge 6. New pipe boots on my plumbing and furnace vents 7. New chimney flashing 8. New ridge vent 9. New architectural shingles 10. Removal of all trash; the dumpster was gone by 7:30 the next morning When the crew arrived, the foreman discussed the job with me. I made him aware of a couple of details that I expected - one that was promised to me, and one that hadn’t been previously discussed. He took care of both of them without dispute and without asking for a change order. Safety - the crew followed proper safety protocol, including: 1. Installing temporary tie-off anchors at the ridge, and clipping on with ropes, rope grabs, lanyards, and harnesses. 2. Using a motorized ladder-climbing device to hoist the materials to the roof, eliminating the potential hazard of climbing the ladder while carrying a heavy load. 3. Wearing a Tyvek-type suit and full-face respirator while working around the multiple layers of insulation in the attic to re-route the bath exhaust ducts. Clean-up: 1. A dumpster was delivered shortly before the work started, and was placed exactly where I had previously instructed GBR to place it, with wood placed under the wheels to prevent damage to my driveway. 2. The crew set up large tarps to protect the house and my landscaping, and to facilitate easy clean-up. 3. When I arrived home at the end of the day, my yard was at least as clean as when they started. 4. The dumpster was removed early the next morning. I received an e-mail saying they were done, along with a link to a series of progress photos. This crew did everything the right way. The job has been done for over two weeks now, and the roof has performed perfectly in the rain. I highly recommend Greater Boston Roofing."

FAQs for new windows service projects in Framingham, MA

Yes, bay windows add value to a home. They enhance the property by expanding the interior space and flooding rooms with natural light. Their unique three-panel design creates a stunning focal point that elevates curb appeal and modernizes living areas. This architectural detail increases both functional space and visual appeal, directly contributing to higher home resale value.

Yes, all window types have the potential to become part of a bay window configuration when modified correctly. The transformation involves reconfiguring standard windows into a multi-panel design that features a larger central window flanked by smaller ones. This process requires precise professional planning and custom framing to ensure durability, visual balance, and structural integrity.

Bay windows typically consist of three glass panels extending beyond the home's exterior walls, with a larger center panel flanked by two smaller ones. In contrast, bow windows are composed of four to six equally sized glass panels that create a gentle curve and do not extend as far from the exterior walls.

Bay windows cost more than standard windows because their expansive, multi-panel design requires additional materials and skilled labor. Their construction involves extra glass, specialized frame components that extend outward, and complex operating mechanisms. These technical demands necessitate precise engineering and multiple expert installations, thereby significantly increasing both material and labor expenses.

Bay windows cost three times more than standard double-hung windows because their design requires extra panels, expanded framing, and a more complex installation process. The advanced construction method increases material consumption and demands comprehensive expertise, while specialized window treatments further elevate expenses. This all results in a significant difference in overall project cost.
