"As a part-time landlord with four rentals, I do not have the time or the expertise to make repairs on the houses. A friend introduced me to Shawn at Georgia Construction Consultants five years ago and he has quickly moved up on my speed dial. He has replaced siding, repaired roofs, replaced windows and screens and has done general wood carpentry on both the exterior and interior of all of the houses. <br /> Shawn is easily accessible and has no surprises in his pricing/estimates. His work is professional and timely. His suggestions have saved me time and money which is very important to the success of my business. <br /> I would recommend using Georgia Construction as I plan on continuing to use them in the future! <br />"

"We had a hole in our ceiling from a plumbing leak. I called them because of the good reviews I read online and was not disappointed! Joel Henderson came out within a day or two to give us an estimate and was very clear that it would take a couple weeks to get out to do the work, which was fine. They were actually able to reschedule for a few days earlier than planned. The repair looks great! Not only did they replace the drywall and paint, but they textured it to look like the rest of the ceiling that has a 70's/80's kind of texture and it looks perfect. They matched the pattern so well that it's hard to imagine there was ever a hole. Great work, very professional, and such a relief to have that hole patched. 100% recommend!"

"These guys are great. I explained the repairs I needed done after another guy bailed on me many times. Talon drove an hour to get it done before the storm came so it would be done before closing. They don’t care how small the job is it’s still worth their time."

"My wife and I bought a house in Athens in 2012. We hired a variety of contractors from the area to help with the remodeling of our home. Time and time again I was met with high prices and low quality work. I had a front door installation that was installed with 10 different sized screws. I had an outer wall repaired with masonite that was sold to me as "a high quality construction material." which quickly disintegrated leaving my home exposed to the elements. The contractor even told me not to worry about a rotting section of the house's frame that I expressed concern over. I felt like My wife and I were being taken advantage of at every turn and the work being done never seemed to be done right. We hired Jimmy Parr (Son of a Plumber) to install new ceiling fans and lights throughout the house. Jimmy did excellent work and so we hired him to fix the outer wall of our home that had been so badly handled by the previous contractor. Jimmy gave us a surprisingly fair price and ended up discovering more damage to the frame of our house than we had ever imagined. Jimmy repaired the bottom plate of the frame and replaced it with a 16' pressure treated 2x4 which he nailed to the concrete foundation. The end result was that I could feel the difference in the structural integrity of the upstairs of our home. I really can't thank Jimmy enough for going above and beyond what he had originally set out to do, but most of all for being honest with us about the problems that the previous contractor had ignored. Since then we have hired Jimmy for countless small jobs. He always comes through with integrity and skill (unlike other contractors that I've hired). I would recommend Jimmy for any job around the house."

"Joshua was the first service to answer the phone when I called, and he was extremely polite, even when I called back nearly immediately to reschedule the removal. <br /> He was punctual, polite, professional, and knowledgeable, as well as concerned for safety in the home during and after the removal. <br /> He answered ALL of my questions (and there were many, because I was curious), and he took great care to do the job well. <br />"

"I am pleased to recommend ETL Construction to anyone desiring true quality in any type of construction project, be it initially building a new home or needing another smaller construction project.   I needed a quality builder to build my John Tee Designed Southern Living Home Plan and I found Bill Kraeling and ETL more than met that need. Bill was able to help me add the design features and materials that gave my home the "historic" look that make it so very special. From selecting the most advantageous site on my property; helping me choose finishes; to keeping me on budget; to finishing my home on time; to completing several other smaller projects several years later; Bill and his ETL crew have always been the consummate professionals!""

"Over the past few years the facia board and corner boards at the base of my external chimney enclosure showed increasing signs of water damage. My home is approximately 10 years old. When I went up on a ladder to check the facia and corner boards more carefully they were rotted out and felt like paper rather than wood. <br /> It was time to get the problem fixed so I went to Angie's list and contacted the top three rated contractors in my area that indicated they did the type of work I needed done. Each of the contractors indicated they were interested in providing a quote for the job and scheduled follow up visits or committed to contacting me in the following week to set up an appointment. <br /> Of the three I contacted only <strong>one</strong> followed up to visit the house and provide a quote for the work. The contractor that provided the quote was, <strong>EDT Construction.</strong> My experience with EDT was outstanding, they carefully analyzed the work to be performed and provided a initial estimate but made it very clear that because of the nature of the problem there was no way to accurately estimate the cost without beginning to take things apart. I knew in advance that it would be unreasonable to expect a fixed price due to the nature of the damage, in fact I would have been very concerned if they gave me a fixed price with a commitment to not exceed that price due to the potential for more hidden damage. <br /> They were very careful and deliberate in their work and very thorough in determining the cause of the water damage and correcting the problem. The job turned out to be more expensive than I had initially hoped for but the work was far more extensive than I expected. If you want the job done right and stand the test of time I would highly recommend you use EDT Construction. If you just want something to look good for a few months and you don't care about the longer term appearance of your house you might want to consider another company, but I would not. <br /> I would feel very comfortable recommending EDT to my parents, children, siblings and friends, they won't disappoint. <br />"

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Franklin Springs, GA

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
