"Outstanding in all respects! I coordinated the initial on-site review and cost estimate with Brent Droege, who had his project estimator show up on time on the date we agreed. Oscar was very thorough and was very technically proficient in designing an irrigation system that met my requirements to cover the entire lawn, without irrigating the sidewalks or road. The price quote was extremely fair and Agape had received numerous good reviews on Angie's List, so I hired them to install my irrigation system. Mr. Droege had his team of professionals show up on time and ready to work. They removed my old, inadequate irrigation system and installed a completely new system that met my needs. The project took two days and i was amazed at the amount of work they were able to accomplish in this short time frame. The team leader, Jesus, was a true professional and walked/showed me how to operate the various zones, while his team fine tuned the sprinkler heads to cover all the grass, but not the sidewalks or road. I was very impressed with everything that Agape did. I have absolutely no regrets about hiring them and would do it again, if I need any further irrigation requirements."

"Mike and team did an excellent job with this project. We were postponed a couple of weeks due to excessive rain in the area, but it was well worth the wait. The finished product looks better than we expected and we would not hesitate to recommend them or use them again in the future. Mike uses his own equipment (including dump truck) and his pricing was very reasonable. We also had enough gravel to add another layer to the old driveway. They completed the project in less than a day. We couldn't be happier with how it turned out!"

"The work was fantastic! Raleigh Waterproofing did an outstanding job. The crew was prompt and worked very quickly. I was very impressed by the clean-up afterwards too--not only did they clean the yard, but they spread grass-seed and hay on all of the parts that were (unavoidably) affected by the work. Better still, when a torrential downpour exposed the pipe and revealed a flaw in the initial drainage system, Raleigh Waterproofing came out immediately to clean up the washout. They then improved the existing drainage further, at no extra cost. I am very happy with Raleigh Waterproofing, and will recommend them without hesitation to anyone I know who needs drainage work done."

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in Franklinton, NC

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
