"My dad is elderly and needed a new HVAC system. So I decided to find a person who could install a new HVAC system and we found Cody. Cody was very friendly, honest, and communicated very well. At one point he told us we could probably go another 3-5 years with the current system, but since my dad only has so many years left we told he to go ahead and install a whole new system in. He treated us like gold and even spent the time showing my Dad all the new features with the thermostat. I would highly recommend Cody for any repairs or HVAC needs you have."

"The HVAC specialist performed a diagnostic test of the upstairs unit, and determined that the pressure switch was bad. They then charged us $265 to change the part which did not fix the problem. We were then told that the mother board was bad and this need to be changed as well. They then quoted us approx $1200 to complete the entire job. I decided at this point that I would just fix the system myself. I then ordered a new motherboard a fixed the system for just under $400 total cost including the cost of changing the pressure switch. I honest felt like the pressure switch was never the issue and that I paid the company to change a part that was never bad in the first place. This is solely my opinion and I have no way of truly telling if this part was bad or not. I'm sure the company does great work, but I felt that I was going to continue to pay them to swap parts that may or may not be bad and once everything was said and done get hit with a large bill that I could not afford.

"The company hired was from Parker, probably a local branch. The response during scheduling was great, able to modify the schedule for an earlier date when I called the second time. Our technician Anton was very professional and he explained all the work. He even helped fixed some of the floor duct connections. The house felt a lot cleaner after the session. The actual cleaning process took a while which tells me that they are doing serious cleaning. Highly recommended."

"The whole service was excellent. He was friendly and had the parts on hand and even asked if there were any other electrical tasks I needed done while he was there. He also provided an estimate for another job that I want done later.

"They did an awesome job!  I know that during the heatwave all of the AC companies were swamped and their techs were overworked and tired.  I also learned that for many of the companies, 24/7 emergency service is only available to previous customers.  we had never used Slattery before but we will be using them from now on.  They came out when we needed them and while we didn't get the new unit for 6 days (the 4th of July was in the middle of the week), we knew that they we're trying to help us.   My son-in law is a mechanical engineer out East and he verified everything that Kenny said about the R44 and 410A issues and the fact that if we had chosen to go with the new refrigerant we would have to change out our furnace as well because it would not be compatible with the new 410A.I highly recommend Slattery and Kenny!  I will be using them from now on."

FAQs for window a/c unit service or relocation projects in Franktown, CO

If your window air conditioner is relatively new or of high quality, repairing it can restore optimal performance and protect your investment. However, for older units or those with ongoing issues, it might be more cost-effective to replace the unit to ensure long-term efficiency and reliability. Consider the unit's age, the severity of the problem, repair costs versus replacement, and energy efficiency ratings when making your decision. If repairs cost more than half the price of a new unit, replacement is typically the better option.

Window air conditioners last eight to ten years on average. After this time, you may notice decreased efficiency and component wear. Replacing an older unit can improve energy savings and provide updated features like remote controls and better overall performance. With proper maintenance including regular filter cleaning, coil checks, and professional servicing, you can maximize your unit's lifespan.

If your portable AC isn't cooling, it might have a refrigerant leak or a circuit malfunction that's preventing it from working properly. It's best to contact a local air conditioner contractor to inspect and repair the unit. If your AC is older and repairs don't fix the issue, replacing it might be the most effective solution.

Removing a wall-mounted AC costs $55 to $75. Completing the removal yourself at the end of each summer season, being sure to do so according to proper guidelines, keeps you within this cost range. Should you require professional assistance for removal and disposal, if you can't move the unit yourself, expect an added fee of $25 to $50 to the overall cost.
