"It went very well. This was my third experience using Pella. I am extremely pleased with the windows I know have. They not only look good but they are sound and weather proof. The installers did a magnificent job, very professional."

"Martin wrote up our quotes on the spot and explained each line item. Really appreciated that he doesn’t just quote the jobs, he works them with his crew as well. He designed the job to best serve our needs, which included eliminating our old vents and installing a more efficient ridge vent system. He kept me informed as to timeline and, once on the job, the guys were efficient, took care to protect our property, and did a phenomenal job on the roofs. There was one small issue on a drip guard, and they came back and re-did it to make sure that we were 100% happy with the job - and we are. The roofs look fabulous and I would recommend DT to anyone (and already have)!"

"Salesman that we were to replace dry wall. Later learned we were to have it removed. Attempts to reach supervisors and owners resulted in zero until time to do installation. Gave $1300+ down. Note: this went to the salesman, not to MABS. Then salesman stated $12,000 more if MABS removed the dry wall. Paid salesman and his friend to remove it but didn't do all of it! Sent certified letters to Cedar Rapids address after we got no verbal responses to phone calls. Later learned they receive no mail there, only in Davenport. Were to have GFI outlet placed at far end of basement. 3 electricians said not possible. Also discharge was to be underground to rear of yard which we thought meant to back! House sits on clay. Was to discharge under ground out 10 feet from house. Canceled installation and have found that other basement waterproofing companies do not require 2.5 feet of dry wall removed: only baseboard. Cost was same as MABS. Now we must pay to have drywall installed after the waterproofing is completed."

"The original project manager was good. He installed the roof, had a few hiccups, but I was satisfied until 1 1/2 years later when I got 4 leaks. Additionally, some aluminium was supposed to be installed and it still hasn't been installed. I have been calling since March 2019 and still no one has come out to fix the leaks. I only have a couple of months left until warranty expires which I'm figuring they are waiting for. I've called & asked the owner Matt to call me, b ut 5 days later and still no call. A roofer is only as good as his repairs. My advise is don't use Cat. They have no one within 50 miles to repair my roof. I'm very disappointed as I first thought they had done a good job. I had seen reviews where the owner was very responsive, but not to me."

"Last year a home improvement contractor in Madison WI completely botched our project for five replacement windows. The largest one was too short by 2" on each side, two smaller ones weren't to code - didn't include tempered glass that was called for in the contract, and none of them were finished correctly inside and out. A call to the manufacturer connected us to Kobyco. From our first contact with sales consultant Roy to installation last week with Jay and crew, we couldn't be happier with their great communication, showing up on time and professional-level work. Our home was architecturally designed and built in 1954 and the windows had to have finish work that maintained the integrity of a "set in" look. This install was done perfectly, and we couldn't be more pleased. Beautiful windows! Would definitely hire again."

FAQs for new windows service projects in Freeport, IL

Yes, bay windows add value to a home. They enhance the property by expanding the interior space and flooding rooms with natural light. Their unique three-panel design creates a stunning focal point that elevates curb appeal and modernizes living areas. This architectural detail increases both functional space and visual appeal, directly contributing to higher home resale value.

Yes, all window types have the potential to become part of a bay window configuration when modified correctly. The transformation involves reconfiguring standard windows into a multi-panel design that features a larger central window flanked by smaller ones. This process requires precise professional planning and custom framing to ensure durability, visual balance, and structural integrity.

Bay windows typically consist of three glass panels extending beyond the home's exterior walls, with a larger center panel flanked by two smaller ones. In contrast, bow windows are composed of four to six equally sized glass panels that create a gentle curve and do not extend as far from the exterior walls.

Bay windows cost more than standard windows because their expansive, multi-panel design requires additional materials and skilled labor. Their construction involves extra glass, specialized frame components that extend outward, and complex operating mechanisms. These technical demands necessitate precise engineering and multiple expert installations, thereby significantly increasing both material and labor expenses.

Bay windows cost three times more than standard double-hung windows because their design requires extra panels, expanded framing, and a more complex installation process. The advanced construction method increases material consumption and demands comprehensive expertise, while specialized window treatments further elevate expenses. This all results in a significant difference in overall project cost.
