"We had all the windows in our house replaced in September 2022. It was a big job. The windows had to be custom made, and we were replacing wood frame windows with material that will last in Houston. We contracted in January and were told the order would take 8 months. This was an accurate assessment. We were delayed a little longer because of rain, but the company kept in touch with us well and did everything they promised. The crew worked long hours for 7 days to do the installation and were not only highly competent but also professional, considerate, and polite. We were extremely happy with the work done and our experience with this company."

"Tim was amazing, he sat and explained everything to us. He walked us through all the options and answered every question. With his help we picked out the perfect windows. We replaced every window in the house and we could not be happier. The installation was quick and they did an excellent job! We’ve had the windows for over a year with zero issues and absolutely love them! Our favorite part of the job was replacing some of windows that look out to the pool with a giant 12ft by 10ft 3 pane glass door. It brightened up our living room and looks stunning! You feel like you’re out by the pool while sitting in the living room. They also replaced a back door, ordered and installed blinds and did some exterior painting. We could not be happier with the quality of the windows, their work and the price. Tim and everyone at AQI are just the best!"

"The whole operation of the installation went very smoothly! The leader of the crew, Jorge, was available and very accommodating to all my questions I had. I trusted the crew to do a wonderful job and they delivered so. My home was left absolutely clean, and I am enjoying the benefits of five beautiful windows. I highly recommend Ultra Windows to any one who is considering to replace his/her old windows. I will use this company again without hesitation as I have many more windows to replace. Thank you to Ultra Windows!"

"<p>I apologize for my two year delay in this review. These guys did an excellent job.. The new windows replaced the old originals on my thirty year old beach front house. Naturally the crew encountered rotten wood, out of square openings and a slightly inclined floor where the patio doors would sit. All were solidly installed and trimmed out very nicely. We did have one install problem. The sill pan under the sliding doors did not drain properly and was just too thin of a material for my liking. I had two marine grade stainless steel sill pans custom made and "Walls and Windows" pulled the doors and reinstalled them with the SS sill pans. Also, along the way a couple of screens have been damaged. Per Simonton's warranty they were replaced without charge. In addition, whenever I've called to ask a question Peter and Rene were always been helpful. Although this review is a couple of years after the fact the positive point is that the windows and doors operate as well as when installed in a beach house that literally moves with the wind.</p> <br />"

"Accent Shutters was more then helpful from the beginning.  We went in to their store several times with questions and we were provided with great customer service.  They were also very timely in coming to our house to measure.  We are scheduled to have our shutters installed within the next 4-5 weeks.  We would highly recommend Accent Shutters to anyone. <br />"

"I contacted the company in February 2015 regarding replacement windows for my home, largely based on Angie's List reviews.  I met with Dave W., who patiently explained various window types and options, and answered all my questions.  My wife and I later went to their showroom and met another salesperson (whose name I don't remember), who was also very helpful.  Over 2-3 weeks Dave provided at least 3 quotes to me as I revised options and scope of work.  Finally I settled on Marvin Infinity fiberglass windows, and signed a contract when Dave and general manager Wayne came out to do final measuring.  These are expensive windows, but they appear to be great quality, and the right choice for us, as we plan to be in this house many years. <br /> Wayne said it would be 4-5 weeks until they received the windows from Marvin - I don't remember exactly, but it wasn't any more than that, maybe a little less.  Phillip and his assistant (again missed his name, sorry) were friendly and professional.  The job was planned for 2 days, but stretched into a 3rd, which didn't surprise me - I expect any remodeling project to go a little long.  They did not ask for an extras on top of the contract price, which is always a pleasant surprise with any project.  My wife and I are thrilled with the appearance of the windows.  In just the few days since they've been installed they have not let any water in, and seem to reduce outside noise when they're closed.  I did notice one screen was slightly nicked - I called Wayne and he said they would take care of it. <br /> We had slightly more than half the windows in our house replaced in this project.  Renaissance will almost definitely be my first call when we are ready to do the rest of the windows.  A pleasure to work with! <br />"

"This company was only one of two glass companies willing to come out to my Midtown loft on a weekend to replace a small single pane of glass on a street-facing window located on the 4th floor.  Other companies I contacted either would not book a weekend appointment or could not be bothered with a small job like this one.  In any event, the 2 young men made my appointment on time, were very polite and did a good job overall. I was a bit disappointed in that they didn't have the exact color of glass to match - all they had was a clear glass and my windows have a light grey tinted glass. I didn't know fact when I made the appointment and was not asked this question by the woman who booked the appointment.  I went ahead and had them use the clear glass and one can barely tell the difference at all - it is not noticable from the street at all as this was a 4th floor window. No big deal.  I was disappointed with the total cost of the job in that I spent $250.00 for 20 minutes of work and a piece of glass that measured about <br /> 8 1/2 inches by 15 inches in size.  Apparently, labor charges are higher when they work on a high floor level.  Not sure why that made a difference as I don't think the young man stepped out on the widow ledge when the installation was being done. In the end, however, I was pleased with the work, and as I mentioned, both young men were very easy to deal with and very polite.  I would use this company again, however I know next time to ask more questions during the appointment booking. <br />"

FAQs for new windows service projects in Friendswood, TX

Yes, bay windows add value to a home. They enhance the property by expanding the interior space and flooding rooms with natural light. Their unique three-panel design creates a stunning focal point that elevates curb appeal and modernizes living areas. This architectural detail increases both functional space and visual appeal, directly contributing to higher home resale value.

Yes, all window types have the potential to become part of a bay window configuration when modified correctly. The transformation involves reconfiguring standard windows into a multi-panel design that features a larger central window flanked by smaller ones. This process requires precise professional planning and custom framing to ensure durability, visual balance, and structural integrity.

Bay windows typically consist of three glass panels extending beyond the home's exterior walls, with a larger center panel flanked by two smaller ones. In contrast, bow windows are composed of four to six equally sized glass panels that create a gentle curve and do not extend as far from the exterior walls.

Bay windows cost more than standard windows because their expansive, multi-panel design requires additional materials and skilled labor. Their construction involves extra glass, specialized frame components that extend outward, and complex operating mechanisms. These technical demands necessitate precise engineering and multiple expert installations, thereby significantly increasing both material and labor expenses.

Bay windows cost three times more than standard double-hung windows because their design requires extra panels, expanded framing, and a more complex installation process. The advanced construction method increases material consumption and demands comprehensive expertise, while specialized window treatments further elevate expenses. This all results in a significant difference in overall project cost.
