"They were fine. I think I had a coupon for the services. They did a fine job. They originally were supposed to do a tune up, but I ended up needed it to be repaired and they repaired it. They called and let me know what time, and they were professional. The scheduling was fine."

"Great response, service tech arrived quickly. Cost to fix slipped cable and adjust door in excess of $300, for 15 minutes work and no parts. Cannot see any improvement in gaps around door. Do not feel cost matched effort or end result, would not hire again but would seek former quotes for services."

"I was having a lot of problems with my garage door. The garage door opener was laboring to lift the door and the door would bind and stop sometimes when the door was lifted so I contacted Plano Overhead Door. Paul Reyna was sent to see what the problem was. He studied the situation and identified that there were several installation issues that weren’t permitting the door to lift easily. He came up with a plan to make several adjustments to fix the issues. He worked quickly and made the necessary adjustments. The result is that the door glides more easily taking pressure off of the opener. I’m very happy with the professionalism that Paul displayed. He did a great job!"

"Technician came out promptly and explained the issue and reason for the problem. Solution was approved by me, and even though the holidays they returned on New Year's Eve to install. Garage door is wooden and very heavy and their solution of a particular type of garage door opener worked perfectly. Will definitely use this company again."

"David Alexander was very personable and very frank about my options. We tried very hard to get me fixed up with the least amount of expense which was very much appreciated. How many times have you had a technician just give a two cent inspection and announce you need a "new" everything? David tried a number of options on my older Genie unit but it just didn't solve all our garage door problems. Ultimately, we had to go with a new opener and he made me a great deal on it."

"I logged into Angie's list in search of a company that could immediately repair my garage door. Within 10 minutes or so I received my first call from Cameron at Doorcraft. He impressed me with his honesty, his thoroughness and his eagerness to help me out and get the job done. I was further impressed because he never tried to sell me something I didn't need or want. Cameron arrived on time, fixed the problem and serviced my garage door as requested. I have used Angie's list for plenty of jobs in the past. They always provide an excellent service, but these guys are the best of the best. Anything to do with garage doors, openers or related, give them a try. Cameron / DoorCraft Garage Doors will not disappoint you!"

FAQs for garage door opener repair or adjustment projects in Frisco, TX

Garage door costs range somewhat broadly, depending on the type you choose. However, you’ll also need to factor in labor costs, which vary from state to state and between pros.

A chain driven operator costs between $150 - $250. For a belt driven operator it is usually $160 - $450. A screw-driven operator is between $250-$500.

To keep garage door opener repair costs down, you should check that the whole apparatus is working normally on a regular basis. This means making sure that the tracks of your door are greased and fully operational, and that the door itself is in good condition.

Installing a new garage door opener runs from $250 to $500 at least. If your repair costs are close in cost to that range or if your garage door is 10 to 15 years old, you should probably replace it instead of repair.

However, it’s a better idea to fix your garage door opener if it’s less than eight years old or if repair costs are less than replacing.

Garage door openers usually last between 10 and 15 years. However, several factors contribute to how long your garage door opener can last. If you schedule regular inspections and practice proper care, you can maximize your garage door opener’s lifespan, saving money in the long run. As a general rule, practice the same care for your garage door opener as you would the door itself.

These tell-tale signs indicate your garage door is going bad, including:

  • Not closing or opening at all

  • The door reversing when you try to open and/or close it

  • Inconsistent opening and closing; more noise than usual (grinding, scraping, or banging)

  • Sticking or stalling when you try to open or close it

If you experience one or more of these signs, it’s time to call a professional garage door repair service.
