Customers say: Quick response

"Showed up on time, provided a reasonable quote, and communication early in the process was strong. I had them come out for an estimate and, after researching rates, found their pricing competitive. I moved forward largely because of their customer satisfaction guarantee. Austyn, the project manager, was friendly, level-headed, and straightforward, and his communication was clear with timely updates. Every employee who came to the house was courteous and professional, and they worked diligently while on-site. Unfortunately, the project has involved repeated issues, delays, and added costs, and I am still without a working system. The initial installation placed both the indoor cassette and outdoor unit incorrectly. After a second visit, the placement was corrected. Following that visit, I was asked to sign paperwork stating the work was complete. Assuming the system was functional, I signed. When I immediately went to test it, the system would not turn on. I then learned the electrica"

"November 2024: After more than a decade of using AireServ as my primary HVAC company, with multiple new installs, I am changing my review from 5 stars to 1 star. Since the recent change in ownership at AireServ Over the Mountain, the quality and integrity of this company have collapsed. During a service call, in November, 2024, I was told every technician except one (Hoyt) has been with AireServ six months or less. In March of 2024 a technician serviced both units at my home but failed to seal the main level air exchanger properly. On November 8th, 2024, this error caused condensation, which led to a premature part failure. The technician admitted the mistake on-site. When the tech communicated this to the new owner, he refused to accept any responsibility whatsoever. The unit was under warranty, but I was charged $426.16 for labor, 20 minutes of work, because of their error. I told them then: they had just lost a customer of ten-plus years. August 28, 2025: Things have only gotten worse. Today, I received a call and text about a “maintenance appointment” that was never scheduled or authorized—followed by a $378 charge to my card. This kind of unauthorized billing never happened under previous ownership. This is fraudulent. I plan to dispute the charge and file a complaint with the Alabama Attorney General. My advice: With the new ownership, do not walk, run away from AireServ Over the Mountain before you regret it."

"I called for AC service on Monday. Aug 18, 2025. A technician came out promptly but said a blower motor was needed, which would have to wait until the next day due to parts warehouse being closed that evening. When the tech contacted me the next day, he said the part would have to be ordered and not be in until late Thurs, with installation now sooner than Fri. The tech then told us on Fri morning that the part wouldn't be in until Monday. Our area was under a heat advisory, and at no time did the tech display any sense of urgency, nor did they attempt to obtain the part from any other supplier in the greater Bham area. Extremely poor communication, planning, and service. I will NEVER use Ontime again."

"Excellent, no problems. My car was new the first year I used the service and there has never been any damage during the transports. The men picking up and delivering the car have always been pleasant and cooperative. Both Ely and Guy at United Transport has been highly responsive to my needs. I would highly recommend this company."

Originally specializing in all types of window treatments (except shutters), I have developed expertise covering a wide variety of things you need done around the house and can't find anyone to do. I have researched, experimented, and developed reliable techniques for securing heavy objects on the wall--especially framed mirrors 80 to 150 pounds. I take on strange and unique projects and help create custom solutions for perplexing problems. I have restored antiques and keepsakes that soaked in hurricane Katrina's toxic sludge in New Orleans. I have repaired badly broken Boehm porcelain figurines. I built stairs and a bridge over ductwork in an attic after HVAC installers completely blocked access to a family's storage. I work patiently with homeowners who need a little extra understanding and explanation. For design professionals, I will help you complete the realization of your artistic vision. I can provide advance problem solving and measuring. My work has been part of articles in issues of Coastal Living and Birmingham Home and Garden magazines. From plain to frilly, period to modern, from easy to nearly impossible, I thoughtfully tackle every challenge as though I am doing the work in my own home. FAQs for swamp cooler installation and replacement projects in Fultondale, AL

Swamp coolers are quite energy-efficient, using only 15% to 35% of the electricity that traditional central air conditioning units consume. This can lead to significant savings on your energy bills. However, keep in mind that swamp coolers require water to operate and may not cool your home as effectively in extremely hot or humid conditions. When considering overall efficiency, it is essential to weigh both electricity and water usage, as well as the cooling needs specific to your local climate.

Evaporative coolers only work in dry climates because they cool by moistening the air. If the air is already moist, this will have little to no cooling effect. Central AC is a better choice if you live in a humid climate, such as the Midwest, eastern, or western coastal regions.

To install a swamp cooler on a roof, a local HVAC specialist will first find and cut a spot free of wiring and obstructions. They’ll then install metal bracing, legs, brackets, the ceiling duct register, ductwork, power, and thermostat wires. Once installed, they’ll seal all openings, attach duct connections, and install a thermostat. Before leaving, they’ll run cool water piping to the unit and inspect all the connections.

The cost to repair your swamp cooler ranges from $50 to $600, depending on the issue, whether new parts are needed, and the chosen repair service. Depending on the type of pad your system uses, you will need to change out the pads every one to three years for proper operation. When budgeting for the cost to repair a window unit, expect to pay around $230.

The U.S. Department of Energy states that swamp coolers can cool a single room by five to 15 degrees Fahrenheit. However, this largely depends on the size and installation method of the evaporative cooler. You can only achieve these results in a dry climate, such as the American South, as it’s easier to cool rooms in humid environments with central air.

Swamp cooler water usage varies depending on the size of the unit. Smaller evaporative units may use one gallon per hour, while much larger units could use up to 15 gallons of water per hour. Most homeowners can expect their unit to use between seven and 10 gallons of water per hour of usage.
