"Perfect! Prime Plumbing answered on my first call and scheduled plumber to come out and inspect job and offer quote. I accepted immediately and the scheduled the job for exactly when I asked. The plumber, Donald, who came out to inspect and quote the job also did the job. He installed a new natural gas line and manifold, set up the pressure test for the county inspector, hooked the line up to BGE's meter after they ran the outside line, and then connected our new gas dryer and vent to the outside. He also supplied and installed a new sanitary sink and water supply and waste lines in our basement. His work was perfect! The price was very fair and competitive. Their office staff is friendly, helpful and answers the phone immediately. We will use Prime Plumbing for all of our future needs and they have our highest recommendation."

The installers arrived on Monday, and the system was installed exactly according to plan, with the job completed in less than 5 hours. They arranged upgrade of the gas meter with Washington Gas (on the same day), removed and disposed of the old tank, arranged for utility rebates, and provided forms to apply for tax credits. I first spoke with Lynn, the owner of Uneeda Plumbing, by telephone to inquire as to services offered, estimated cost, timelines, etc. Lynn was extremely informative and provided me excellent information with which to make my decision. Although I was considering a tankless unit, I settled on a 50 gallon gas-fired water heater, based on Lynn's recommendations (it's the same model he has installed in his house). I was surprised to find that Uneeda was open New Year's Eve, and was scheduling service calls. Lynn was supposed to arrive by 8am, but graciously called me to inform me that he would be a bit late. Overall the service was excellent! Lynn is a garrulous, amicable fellow and chatted with me while he worked. I was amazed by the fluidity with which he could switch between his conversation with me, to calling out measurements for Seamus (his assistant), and then jump back into a conversation. Lynn and Seamus worked quickly and efficiently, removing the old unit and installing the new one in less than 2 hours. They even swept up after themselves when they were finished! I am extremely pleased with the response time, the up-front cost information Lynn provided me with (including possible areas for overruns), the services rendered, and the final product. The installation was a little expensive, but it seemed to be in line with the three other plumbers I called for estimates. I'm confident Uneeda did an excellent job and my new water heater will last effectively for years to come!
