"We had a great experience with All Phase Plumbing Inc. We had previously used them to find and repair a leaking water pipe between the water meter and our house. Based on this previous successful experience, we decided to get a quote for them to install a new kitchen sink. Brandon, from All Phase Plumbing, reviewed the job, thoroughly explained our options, and gave us a reasonable quote for the work. Based on his recommendations, we ordered the sink and associated parts. The new sink was to be installed in a tile countertop. Brandon, and his helper Eric, cut out the old undermount sink without incident, installed the new drop-in sink, faucet, garbage disposal, drains, and air gap. We also added the installation of two new toilets to the job. They were both very pleasant, neat and clean, and did a great job. An added bonus with All Phase Plumbing is dealing with the very pleasant Ami at their office."

"The old water heater was removed from the basement and a new one installed in a few hours. This was done smoothly. The city inspector wanted a couple of pipes to be clamped down for additional security. This was done in a timely manner."

"The company owner visited the site and discussed the problems with the drains and issues associated with various solutions. He described the options for solutions and highlighted the benefits and drawbacks of the various alternatives. This contractor's website provides an excellent informational video on a range of topics of interest to homeowners planning to contract for plumbing or drain services. The workers arrived on time and spent 8+ hours trenching and installing new drains for the kitchen and laundry. The work was to replace 60+ year old drains located under the concrete slab of a masonry house. A little giant pump was installed near the washing machine and the drain was routed through the attic, down the exterior wall and then connected to the new kitchen drain that was rerouted outside the slab. A small portion of masonry block wall was removed to permit the connection to the new drain in the kitchen wall. The workers were pleasant, efficient, took the time to do quality work, but worked quickly and finished the job in one day. The pricing was accurate and affordable. The office was easy to reach for scheduling and contract questions."

"I had my toilets removed to install flooring, and discovered tree roots growing underneath of one of them. I was concerned about the state of the sewer lines. I had heard ads for The Trenchless Co on the radio (and saw the same deal along with good reviews on Angie's list). I called to set up a non-urgent appointment and they gave me a 2 hour window on the morning that I wanted. They called ahead and even arrived a little early (I was still heading back to my house) so they waited for me. The technician was professional and personable. He explained what he was going to do and educated me on my sewer system. He videoed my drain line from the back all the way to the street, showing me the entire system. It turns out that the pipes are fine and clear of roots. Since there was nothing to clear, the inspection was free! He did say that the roots are likely coming from outside of the sewer pipes, between them and the foundation, so he did give me a quote for reworking the concrete around the toilet. I was very pleased with the time they took to do the inspection even tho they did not get a bigger job that day. <br /> <br />"

"Response within hours on a SATURDAY/ knowledge of problem EXCELLENT/ no price inflation/ very PROFESSIONAL/ extremely TRUSTWORTHY This is the response from my daughter on a visit at her home from Kermit. This was the 3rd plumber trying to fix a very routine problem. I had called two others that received good reviews but the job wasn't done due to failures on the other company's side. This was over a week I have been working on this plumbing problem. Went back to Angie's list and called two other plumbers but no response just voicemail or grumpy person answering. THEN called Legacy Plumbing and this kind man named Kermit picked up the phone and said he will be there in 2 hours. Called me back to confirm he was on his way. Resolved the problem and the sound of water draining down the tub drain was a wonderful sound. He had to snake using the sink drain and discovered a part that was broken in the sink and repaired without inflating the price. Cleaned up and was VERY professional. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR BEING AVAILABLE ON SHORT SHORT NOTICE!"

FAQs for basement drainage channels installation projects in Georgetown, CA

Expect a well-built French drain to last 30 to 40 years. By channeling both surface- and ground-water away from your foundation, the system relieves hydrostatic pressure and helps prevent costly structural damage. Choose a pipe with a quality cloth filter to keep sediment out and extend the drain’s life. A quick annual inspection and routine cleanouts will keep water flowing freely, ensuring the system continues to protect your home for years to come.

Most French drains sit two feet below grade, but depth ultimately depends on the problem you’re solving. For puddling rainwater or snowmelt, a shallow curtain drain at lawn level often does the trick. To handle rising groundwater, pros dig deeper, down to the footing, and run the pipe beneath the basement slab. A drainage contractor will determine the optimal depth for your specific soil conditions and water issues.

A properly installed interior French drain captures water at the slab, channels it to a sump pit, and directs it safely outside, preventing basement floods before they occur. Because the pipe sits just under the floor edge, a plumber can reach it easily for cleaning or repairs. Pairing the drain with a reliable sump pump gives you the best long-term protection.

Hire a contractor who installs drainage systems every day—typically a foundation specialist, drainage contractor, experienced landscaper, or plumber with waterproofing experience. These pros understand slope, soil, and local codes, and they have the equipment to trench safely around utilities. Ask for references and photos of recent jobs to be sure they can design a system that keeps water off your foundation for decades.

Once the drain is in, patch the yard by reseeding bare spots or replacing plants the crew removed. Inside, look for ways to add value—finishing the basement or upgrading interior waterproofing while the space is open often costs less now than later. Schedule a quick annual checkup to flush sediment and confirm the pipe and sump pump are clear. Consistent maintenance ensures the drain functions properly and protects your investment.

Most policies don’t cover the cost of repairing a French drain itself, but they may provide coverage for water damage if the system fails. Coverage varies by insurer, so be sure to read the fine print or contact your agent before any issues arise. If you live in a high-risk flood zone, consider a separate flood policy to close the gap. Knowing your coverage in advance helps you budget for repairs and avoid unexpected costs.
