"Jim was considerate of my need to have the rest of the house function and took care of it very professionally. He was friendly and easy to work with as far as questions I had for him. He answered everything fully and gave me options. His price was more than fair. And it all works now!"

"Excellent! As with other job previously reviewed, we chose Kimicata Brothers for this project without getting any other bids. Our experiences with Kimicata have all been very satisfying. For this project, we worked with the landscape designer Rick Nohe, who visited us several times to understand what we were looking for and showed us the design in 3D which was very helpful. Brian was the lead on the project - which started on time. The crew was always on site, made great progress and cleaned up daily. Brian provided good explanations to what was going on, kept us informed of any changes or suggestions (to make the project better). The crews also moved the concrete pavers we no longer needed to our 2 neighbors who expressed interest in having them. We were happy the concrete wasn't going into a landfill and the neighbors were happy to have Kimicata's help. I asked Brian to replant specific plants, which was done and the lawn reseeded. Kimicata also came out to readjust our sprinkler system when work was completed."

"<p>Work was done in July 2013.</p> <p>Mulching went well , we had to withhold payment until the patio repair was finished properly.</p> <p>The four trees, with the one year guarantee, all died in April. We called twice and each time the person who we needed to talk to had just stepped out, calls were  never returned. Called and left a message with the landscape person who took our order, call never returned. E-mailed the company about our problem with no response. Finally wrote a letter to the owner with the same results. Nothing.</p> <p>It is now past a year and we are out over $1000.00 and have four dead trees in our yard.</p> <p>Use at your own risk.</p> <br />"

FAQs for lawn and garden sprinkler system installation projects in Glassport, PA

While drip irrigation systems have higher upfront costs, they can save you money in the long run. By delivering water directly into the soil with minimal evaporation and runoff, drip irrigation systems conserve water and improve efficiency. This means better performance and results for your landscaping, and cost savings over the system's lifespan.

Yes, irrigation systems can add value to your home, especially when installed with high-quality materials and a solid design. A well-irrigated landscape enhances curb appeal and can attract potential buyers. However, poor design or installation may reduce performance and even decrease your property's value. Hiring an expert for installation and performing regular maintenance is key to securing the long-term benefits.

A local irrigation professional can help you check your drip irrigation system to make sure it's in good shape. You'll want to make sure the water pressure is in a good range, repair any leaks as soon as possible, and cover the cost to winterize your sprinkler system as recommended by your irrigation contractor.

A drip irrigation system lasts between 10 and 15 years. This lifespan is determined by the quality of materials, the precision of installation, and regular professional maintenance. Unlike traditional sprinkler systems that can last up to 50 years, the thinner piping used in drip systems is more sensitive to UV exposure and environmental wear. Proper upkeep and timely repairs enhance durability and ensure consistent irrigation performance.

Drip irrigation is best suited for plant beds, containers, greenhouses, and row crops. It supplies water directly to individual plants, ensuring precise moisture control where it is needed most. For areas with simple layouts, above-ground systems work efficiently, while subsurface installations may be cost-prohibitive in spaces with extensive tree roots or irregular terrain. Proper planning maximizes the benefits of drip irrigation across a variety of applications.
